(Bottle) Very good beer. Pours nice amber colour with thick white-light brown head. Caramely and light earthy aroma with little bit of dryed fruit. Taste is lesantly hoppy bitter with sweet undertones. Very nice long bitter finish and you cen still recognize the hops. Medium body high carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2014 Undated bottle. Rich ruby-amber body with faint haze and a soft white head. Hoppy aroma is cherries, cedar shavings, spice mix, herbs, cinnamon candy / twizzlers, pastry dough, marzipan and gelatin candies. Savory texture, medium-full body, semi-sweet flavor with bitterness well-suited. Itís certainly a "fruity" beer but itís not overly sweet which is what the nose suggests. Instead itís rich, savory and soft... prickly acids and fruity esters... the carared malt is perhaps the best use Iíve ever experienced... and the Maris Otter has that brined sweet cherry quality that I get in some English ale. Stellar beer once again from Schipperís, everything works, it seems very deliberate, even four hop strains, including one Iím learning to dislike (Motueka), everything works.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is quite fruity, some biscuity malt notes.
Flavour is relatively dry, some fruity hops. Decent.

The head is ok, the body brown and a bit cloudy. It smells hoparomatic, sweet, fruity. The taste is fruity, hoppy, bitter-flowery, fruity, aromatic, hoparomatic tasty. 12/12/12/11/-/12

A very good all-round brew. Makes a nice change from the usual pale ales without being a difference too far.

Wow. I didnít expect this. Really blurs the boundaries for my tastebuds. The delicious hops are clean and well defined and the caramel malt is there, but a bit shy. Good, flavourful bitterness. Iím glad I had this beer, itís very good.

500ml bottle. Great smell with floral notes that come through in tasting. Incredibly well balanced, intriguing flavours with beautiful malts; toast, caramel and barley. Delicately crafted, no doubt there! Velvety as mentioned on the bottle with some sticky resinous hops, its almost as though iím both eating something delicious and drinking this, but itís all beer here. Another fantastic beer from Schipperís, highly recommended. Looking forward to having this straight off the tap.

This beer does what it says on the tin in terms of colour with a patchy skim of head to an off-cream colour. A good hoovering snort reveals tangerine, peach tart, apple peel, pecans and walnuts. Thereís good hops with plentiful undertones of aromatic malt and every suggestion that it has been done well. Thereís some prickly mouthfeel but good crystal malt body with some nice twinges of sprucy bitterness. The finish leans toward dessert flavours of caramelised tart, quince and Coxís Orange Pippins. Gorgeous stuff that I canít be encouraging enough about.

It could do with a bit more malts and a bit of length on the palate, but itís decently hoppy and refreshing,
Iíd venture this as a decent beer to session on, and one that you could reach for if youíre unsure of the others being offered.
Pleasantly surprised I was.
