Commercial Description:
Stiefter Bier.

I had this beer several times during the last year and there seem to be some differences from batch to batch. The most recent sample had a nice head, was very fruity (melon? rose hips?) and rather bitter with a dry finish that also featured some cocoa like notes.

bottle. Clear orangey yellow, large white head. Very fruity nose with hints of orange and lemon. Light-fotted ale with lots of orange and citrus fruit and a solid malty base. Good portion of romatic hops in the background. If tased blindly I would have guessed whis was an English ale, but in fact it is a very pleasant surprise from Austria! Well done - a fascinating fruity and chewy brew.

Tasted at the Bierkulinarium in Aigen-Schlagl. Sweet aroma, malty, perhaps some sulfur? Slight metallic flavor, maly sweet.

500ml bottle at my mums. Notes of honey and coriander, treacle and malt in the nose which continue throughout. pours beautifully reddish amber with a stable light beige head. Well balanced and one of the gems of schlägl.

Dark golden beer with a medium lasting white head. Caramel, malt, some butterscotch in the nose. Malty flavour with some hoppy bitterness.

Bottle@Home. Caramel malts and cookies aroma. Light amber color, beige head, good lace. Malty, light bitter, light herbal, hints of cookie in the flavor as well. Nice flavors, nice balance, not exceptional though.
