Bierpapst (18), Vienna, Austria Feb 7, 2006 I had this beer several times during the last year and there seem to be some differences from batch to batch. The most recent sample had a nice head, was very fruity (melon? rose hips?) and rather bitter with a dry finish that also featured some cocoa like notes.
Quack-Duck (1973), Bodensee, Germany Aug 13, 2008 bottle. Clear orangey yellow, large white head. Very fruity nose with hints of orange and lemon. Light-fotted ale with lots of orange and citrus fruit and a solid malty base. Good portion of romatic hops in the background. If tased blindly I would have guessed whis was an English ale, but in fact it is a very pleasant surprise from Austria! Well done - a fascinating fruity and chewy brew. couchand (164), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 17, 2008 Tasted at the Bierkulinarium in Aigen-Schlagl.
