Ober (390), Best, Netherlands Oct 6, 2008 On draught in a bar in Vienna. A clear yellow colored beer, with a thick white head. the aroma of malts, fresh fruity and some hops. The taste of fresh fruity citrus, orange and peaches. A little bitter. The aftertaste is smooth, almost no bitterness. heavy (503), Split, Croatia Jan 9, 2008 0.5 l bottle from a Merkur in Graz. Pored golden body with medium head going down at medium pace. Very weak malty aroma. Flavor is bitterish at first, then sweetish malty. Not thin bodied, but very ordinary and rustical. Medium long finish which is also sweetish, as of the malt. Boring and very one dimensional, limited, although drinkable. Again of those that didn’t nearly fill out my expectations. slimchill (645), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2007 Draught. Clear golden with good hardy head. Sour grassy nose. Good malt flavor but extremely thin. Finish leaves a lingering sourness which is definitely unpleasant. Jukkabro (2394), Tampere, Finland Aug 24, 2007 Golden colored, little white head. Sweet, fruity, mildly alcoholic, still
noticable märzen-aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is also rich with sweetness and this fruity-märzen tone, some cardboard also comes up. Aftertaste dries mildly with some lemony tones. Doggythedog (1019), Split, Croatia Jan 5, 2007 0.5l bottle courtesy of a friend who brought it from Schladming (thanks !) Poured a big fluffy, thick white head that went away at a medium pace. The body is more yellow than golden... maybe very pale gold. The nose is hoppy, oily, and somewhat herbal, with some sweet malty hints. The taste is nice and smooth. Fine malty background, smooth, fruity maltiness, weak but chewy hops. The flavours complement each other nicely. Hmm...maaaybe corn, but probably not. A bit dry. Not that bad. Not one of the best lagers I’ve had, but it’s still a nice and pleasant beer.
