COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Exploding with hop flavor and aroma, this citrus/piney/floral ale has enough of a malt backbone to stand up to the intense bitterness.

Very solid ipa...subtle aromas, golden appearance, tastes of hops, citrus and a light floral. Overall this will be an ipa I frequent often.

Bottle from Big Red in Bloomington this one has it all-hoppy piney floral aroma with balance up front and smooth bitter finish---drink as much of this one as you can

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear deep golden color with mild sediment and a thin off-white head. Aroma is exquisite, full of citrusy, floral hop characteristics, including pear, apple, and grapefruit. Flavor is very similar, moderate bitterness full of fruity sweetness. Medium body with a lingering bitterness and sweetness. Excellent IPA.

I don’t know why this beer is rated so highly by everyone. I still think that Schlafly rarely is able to mix hops well and come out with a good IPA. I had this in the bottle, drought, on cask, and dry hopped with Amarillo and was equally unimpressed with each one. I love hops and IPAs but this one is unbalanced and muddled.

Bottled February 21, 2013, or about 4 months ago. Pours darker yellow color.Lots of hops and malts, but too heavy for my taste. PErhaps a fresher bottle would have upped the rating, but I thought the flavor was muddy, and the hops somewhat buried in the malts. Not a favorite.

Poured a darkish gold/copper,fairly clear, some light head, good lace, maybe a bit more carb than average. Aromas are of sweet bready, ripe fruit, juicy smooth citrus,light-med caramel. Waves of pine at times. Taste is smooth somwhat sweet malty with a pretty balanced hop/hop bittering.Piney/citrusy finish.Really good ipa but not exactly one of my favorates or a goto ipa.Very nice ipa though. Its one of those ipa’s that does show its IBU’s in the bittering.Mine is about a month 1/2 from bottleing date. Would like to try this even sooner released though.

Bottled from e district. Poured a nice orange, lots of ripe orange/grapefruit citrus aroma; some piney and malts. A very well balanced IPA. Good.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nearly clear medium copper with a billowy two finger white head. Excellent head retention and lacing. Very grassy aroma along with a healthy dose of tropical fruit. There is some toast buried deep underneath that is enough to begin to balance the hops. Quite nice. The first thing i notice on the taste is overwhelming bitterness. I love a bitter IPA as much as the next guy but this borders on distracting. Tons of grass that can start to become too much. A light touch of tropical fruit but the malt is more buried here. There is a little toast and caramel though along with a continuing strong bitterness through the finish. Overall, a nice IPA but quite out of balance with the extreme bitterness. Probably not something I would pick up on a regular basis.

Received in trade from bluewolf17, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a crystal clear Medium golden color with a huge bubbly white head that persists forever. Smells of pine and resin with a hint of garlic and a modest caramel bready malt to back it up. Light earth and a touch of alcohol round out the nose. The flavor is sweet with bready caramel and a solid shot of ethanol. Bitter pine and resin dominate the flavor with a long lingering garlic and ethanol bitterness finishing us off. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA but maybe the flavors are a bit harsh and clashing just a little bit.

12oz bottled March 27, 2013. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours hazy amber with nice little bits floating around, three finger white head that settles to a small cap and leaves good lacing behind.

Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, lemon, good bit of pine, a little floral, grassy, some bready and caramel malt. Good strength.

Flavor is grapefruit, lemon citrus, resinous hops, good bit of pine, grassy, some caramel malt backbone, moderate sweetness, moderate to good bitterness, mild to moderate alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a little oily, good carbonation.

Nice IPA, but not as good as the Tasmanian IPA!
