COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Exploding with hop flavor and aroma, this citrus/piney/floral ale has enough of a malt backbone to stand up to the intense bitterness.

draft at tap room. aroma is slow coming and neutral, touches on metallic notes before slightest hints of pine show. appearance is pleasantly hazy with solid head that reduces at moderate pace. flavor is outright bitterness, ’five alive’ fruits present, drowning out simpler pine or grassy notes. drinks like a regular IPA, no booze detectable.

Great hazy copper and orange tinted body with a thin tan head. Aroma of mild yeast, honey, malt, citrus and a bit of pine - not too much hops noticeable. Medium-bodied; Assertive hop flavour at first with a perfumey and honey bite and a good malt backbone and a tiny amount of grassy tastes. Aftertaste is mild, yet hoppy with some sweet flavours and a little perfume and resin flavours near the end. Good balance of malt and hops and a pleasant amount of sweetness. Overall, nice but could use a lot more hops, then again, I could have drank this a bit quicker. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Ye Olde Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-July-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 16-March-2011.

Bottle. Poured an orange-brown with a creamy off-white head. Big citrus aroma with a caramel backing. The flavor found a balance of caramel and citrus. Medium body and medium bitterness.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear, coppery color with a two finger light tan head of thick bubbly foam that left rings of sticky lace. Aroma of grapefruit, pine and citrusy hops with a touch of roasted maltiness. Flavor of spiced piney hops that is well balanced with sweet caramel and toasty malt. Medium bodied, crisp and sharp with a dry finish. A very good IPA.

Pours hazy gold with a thick frothy beige head. Aroma of toffee and piney hops. Taste seems a little faded on the hop side of things, lots of dark fruit, some bitterness. I will try this again fresh. Still a good beer but has obviously lost it’s hop crispness and turned into more of a barleywine. Just looked at the bottle, says bottled on 5/20/10, so 6 months old.

Bottle shared by DalzAle (thanks Greg). Pour is honey orange with a nice soapy head. Aroma is solid citrus and grapefruit and some honey. Taste is more grapefruit and citrus and a nice mixed malty finish. Palate is medium feel with a creamy malt and chaulky finish.

Bottle. Dark orange pour, a little carbonation and a soapy hop aroma. Flavor is vibrant sweet bitter orange, solid malt backbone and finished with a floral aftertaste.

Pours a transparent deep copper amber with a pillowy froth of beige head. Has a fresh grapefruity hop nose and lots of sweet toasty caramel malt underneath. Starts with good fullness and plenty of sweet caramel notes slowly giving way to a piny citrusy hop flavor and eventual bitterness in the finish. Has enough sweetness to be a double IPA, but could use a little more balance. Overall a pretty good brew though.

From a trade via Strykzone. Thanks. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized white head and lots of lacing. The nose is citrus and pine. Rich body and creamy mouthfeel with a little alcohol burn. Flavor is malts ands hops, and in good balance. The finish is dry and very bitter, almost too much so.
