4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Transfer from BA review on 3-28-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nice orange-copper color with a thick one finger off white head. The head sits atop the brew for quite a long time, eventually fading down to give a nice level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a very pleasant blend of lighter fruits and citrus hop. The fruits are heaviest of a tropical nature with lots of tangerine and mango, but these are mixed with some lighter apricot and peach aromas as well. The hop out does the fruit ever so slightly in potency, bringing a nice grapefruit hop aroma mixed with a light earthy hop smell.
Taste – The taste starts out with a bready and more malty flavor with some of the fruit that was detected in the nose. The fruit however is light in potency and consists mostly of the apricot and peach with little or no tropical mango. Also upfront is a decent presence of grapefruit hop which grows stronger as the taste advances. While the grapefruit gets stronger the fruity flavors fade some, with the bready flavors remaining ever vigilant and constant throughout. Toward the end, other hop flavors of a pine and grassy nature come to the tongue with a very small amount of a sugary sweetness, leaving an overall grapefruit bitter, but still somewhat smoother flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is a bit on the creamier and chewier side with a carbonation level that is average to just above average. The thicker and chewy body is very nice for the bready and fruit flavors of the brew, with the carbonation keeping the grapefruit from producing too much bitterness on the tongue at the end of the taste. Overall it is a nice combination for the flavors of the brew.
Overall – A rather tasty IPA with a good dose of grapefruit hop that is balanced out by a moderate bready and fruity base. Not a bad brew to sit back and enjoy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle pours a clear orange with a ring of lightly lacing, white head. Nose has a lot of heavy pith, orange, grapefruit, some spruce, some pine. Smells just a bit stale. Flavor follows along, sprucey, pithy, pine, some mild candy sweetness. Bitter finish, lots of bite.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-clear yellow to orange color with a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Light lacing strung itself in a messy sort of way.
The smell had a decent sharp sweet citrus/floral note over top of a light orange and tangerine aroma. Light caramel tones to come in underneath to balance.
The taste was mainly bittersweet through the citrus/floral hop content but the caramel aspects try to balance but stay underneath.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and good to me. There was a good harshness and almost went just a tad overboard, luckily, it stays right where it should be.
Overall, good AIPA I know I would have again if I could get it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at Bacchus, where I stopped in during a bicycle ride. A big, rich, sweet IPA! Lots of grassy, piney hop taste, saturated with flavor. Plenty of malty sweetness too, and some resin oil. It finishes up peppy and tingly. First rate.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is transparent golden in color with a tight white head. Nose has a bit of slightly stale grain up front, a touch doughy, and moderate malt sweetness. Hops are herbal with a decent amount of citrus. Taste is a bit doughier and sweeter. Some stale grain, pungent sticky caramel malt, chewy feel, lots of fleshy orange citrus hop in back with low bitterness.

At Schlafly Bottleworks in a shifter. The orange color is nice. The aroma has a citrus, piney smell. It has a nice taste but afterwards it has an astringent aftertaste. Nice IPA though.

On tap at the STL airport. Pours a clear golden amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of bitter citrus and pine with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has lots of citrus with a touch of resin and a light grain backbone.
