4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a moderately clear amber color. The head is a two finger offwhite shade, retaining itself decently. Lots of lacing on the glass, too.
S: Thereís a nice amount of mango, papaya, grapefruit, and herbs on the nose, with enough malt to balance. I love the Simcoe-forward nature of this one. Develops an onion-y note after warming up, and thatís a good thing.
T: Again, this really showcases Simcoe hops well. It starts with some mild, unsweetened tropical fruits, before it develops a strong piny, herbal tone near the finish and aftertaste. The finishing bitterness might put some off, but who cares?! Give me more.
M: No annoying syrupy linger or overdone malt sweetness here, yet at the same time, itís not wrecking the palate with bitter dryness. As such, itís nicely crisp, not to mention superbly drinkable.
O: This might be my favorite pine-forward IPA to date. It kind of reminds me of Troegs Perpetual IPA with its crisp finish and Simcoe-heavy nature, which is always a good thing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance is a cloudy golden with quickly dissipating white foam cap. Aroma is less intense than I had hoped for, but still brings out pine and earthy notes. Taste is more malt forward and the bitterness shows up on the finish with a punch, but not overpowering. Mouthfeel has a nice creamy feel to it and the bitterness doesnít last too Lon on the finish. Overall very good IPA but would have expected a bit more hop aroma.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft. A bright copper colored brew with a muted, yet pleasing, juicy hops nose. Tons of citrus fruit and toffee sweetness fill out the body, leading to a long, warming, bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
After thoroughly enjoying Schlaflyís Tasmanian IPA I expected to enjoy this one as well and I was right. Pours golden with a touch of orange and a small head with little lacing. The aroma is fantastic and covers the entire hop spectrum. It has floral, pine and citrus notes. Smells great. Taste is a nice combination of hop bitterness and just the right amount of malt backbone. There is a nice bitter citrus finish. Overall this beer is light to medium bodied, crisp and easy to drink. I think I prefer the Tasmanian by a little but this beer is also excellent. I shouldnít have waited so long to try beers from this brewery.
