4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Severian (35) - Saint Charles, Missouri, USA - NOV 24, 2011
Bottle to glass. Pours a dark golden with a lasting, thick one finger head. Aroma is pine, citrus, grass. Taste is bitter, piney, with a citrus background. I can taste more and more lemons and orange zest as I drink it. Has a rich mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. The bitterness lingers. Very good. Only a notch below the AIPA special release.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Foxbush (704) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 13, 2011
This was a great expeience. We were at the Capital Ale House in Federicksburg for lunch. It was an opportunity to taste new ales. This APA poured a light reddish amber with a small head and some lacing. This medium body ale had a lively carbonation with plenty of hops floral bitterness. This is very a aromatic ale. You could smell the hops across the table. You notice pine and spruce from the beginning. The smooth finish has a pleasant lingering bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Onslow (639) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Slightly cloudy amber brew, very dense and foamy head. Aroma of light pine and citrus malts. Taste is fine - a lttle sweet malt and pine hops at the start with a nice dry finish. Pine and citrus at the end. Not much lingering aftertaste. Overall a nice brew, well executed and refined, but not a standout.

Pours slightly hazy gold. Good lacing and retention. Aroma is pine hops and alcohol. Taste is hoppy and dry. Mostly pine hops, some caramel malts, pretty light watery mouthfeel. Decent session beer, nothing that really stands out though.
