COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Belgian-Style Golden Ale opens with a fruity nose and rounded sweetness that compose a pale and balanced beer. Hallertau hops lend a hint of spice that balances the aroma and flavor of orchard fruit. Similar to our Belgian Tripel, but with a lighter body and a crisper finish, it is the perfect introduction to the family of Belgian beers renowned for their complexity and delicacy.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear medium gold with a thin, white head that is barely half a finger. It fades away quickly just leaving some light lacing. Aroma is very fruity with peach, pear and orange along with some coriander spiciness from the yeast. Flavor closely follows the aroma with fruit being very dominant. There is almost a little bit of tartness present. Malt is very light with just a slight bit of bread detectable in the background. Mouthfeel is on the thin side and bitterness is light with some stickiness and sweetness lingering. Overall, a decent try at a Belgian Pale Ale but it is a notch below the authentic versions. Schlafly did a good job with this, though, and it is worth picking up should you see it.

Slightly hazy copper colored beer with a thin white head that has surprisingly good retention. Sweet-sour nose of candi syrup and yeast with a bit of green apple thrown in. Flavor is quite sugary initially, which then opens up into a slight tangerine sourness and finishes with a touch of bitterness, but the lingering flavor is more sweet than anything else. Good beer, but I find it a bit cloying after a while.

Pours bubbly, light yellow-gold with a thin white cap. Yeasty, sweet fruit aroma. Flavour is peppery yeast....banana... Spicy and crisp with a slight earthy bitter. Very tasty.

Tap pours a near clear deep yellow gold with white fizz. The aroma is musty grains and earthy fruits familiar to golden Belgians. The flavors are gentle and crisp with some sweetness throughout. It has a lightly musty grain with some grainy spice complimenting the yeast with a near peppery crisp spice. The hops due some back up work with an earthy citrus orange, all the soft flavors working in unison. Not a beer that will knock your socks off but very well done.

Honey and candi aroma, strong. Clear amber, thin head. Malty, but not so sweet. A bit metallic. Tons of muddled Belgian yeast esters. Good.

Bottle at home. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium-short retention with light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, light diacetyl (buttered popcorn), Belgian candi sugar, pear esters, faint hops and light bitterness with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Stopped by the Bottleworks today. Got this in a goblet. I’ve had it a few other times, poured from a bottle. A very good beer. Went down well with a bison burger.

Nice standard Belgian with a clear gold color and fizzy palate. Has a yeasty aroma and sweet caramel flavor. Not a bitter beer.
