Schlafly Belgian-Style Golden Ale opens with a fruity nose and rounded sweetness that compose a pale and balanced beer. Hallertau hops lend a hint of spice that balances the aroma and flavor of orchard fruit. Similar to our Belgian Tripel, but with a lighter body and a crisper finish, it is the perfect introduction to the family of Belgian beers renowned for their complexity and delicacy.

Bottle at home. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium-short retention with light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, light diacetyl (buttered popcorn), Belgian candi sugar, pear esters, faint hops and light bitterness with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Stopped by the Bottleworks today. Got this in a goblet. I’ve had it a few other times, poured from a bottle. A very good beer. Went down well with a bison burger.

Nice standard Belgian with a clear gold color and fizzy palate. Has a yeasty aroma and sweet caramel flavor. Not a bitter beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body under a one finger white head that left some sticky lacing. The nose is lightly fruity with floral hops and some light yeastiness. The flavor is really pretty interesting, there’s a nice juicy fruitiness to it that’s really refreshing. Just a light touch of bitterness on the finish that seems to enhance the fruity character from the yeast. Really well hidden alcohol, hard to peg this at 7% ABV. Light bodied and refreshing with perfect soft fizzy carbonation. One of the best Schlafly beers I’ve ever had.

Poured a crystal clear golden with no head at all. Drank at slightly under room temp. Nose has bananas bubblegum and some spice. Flavor is clean and crisp. Slight bitterness but also somewhat sweet. Medium body. A very nice beer. One of the better of their mass bottled beers. Very nice.

Poured from bottle. Slightly hazy golden yellow with medium white head. Taste is mildly fruit and spice..... a bit muddy at the start but finishes on a crisper note. Becomes smoother as it warms a bit. Pleasant enough but not totally Belgian in character.

Pours pale gold with a finger of white head that soon fades to a wispy cap. Aroma of lemon and yeast. Taste is very crisp with lemon, grass and yeast. Quite nice.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a two finger off-white head with good retention. Aroma of mild citrus, fresh fruit, with a hint of malt sweetness. The taste was a medley of floral hops, juicy pear, yeast, cloves, and spearmint along with a bit of light grainy cracker at the finish. Lighter bodied and crisp with a sharp carbonation.
