Very nice Belgian ale from Schlafly, with some interesting spiciness and a nice mouthfeel. Good.

Jan 21, 2008 Another great brew by Schlafly. The bartender said that the ABV was approx. 10% and I can believe it. One of these delicious beers gave me half of a buzz.

Sep 23, 2007 Had a golden color with an off white head. Had a spicy aroma with some malt. Had some creamy banana palate with a fair share of carbonation. The alcohol can be felt in the warm finish.

Jan 15, 2007 On tap at the tap room. Aroma is loaded with banana, major banana with a few spicy notes. Reminds me of a strong wiess so far. Very cloudy golden yellow with a thin head. Sweet banana-malt flavor with a touch of clove and other spices. Warming, alcoholic finish. A little too simple to be a good tripel. Medium-full body with a sweet and creamy texture. Trade some of that banana flavor for more complex Belgian yeast flavors and make the finish a little drier and this would be much better.

Jan 12, 2007 On Tap at Schlafly’s Tap Room . Pours clear gold with a small / moderate sized white head. The aroma is cloying thick candied malt with essence of banana. Medium body with only a little bit of carbonation. The flavor starts with syrupy malt that is quite sweet and also has the bananas from the aroma. The finish has a sharp bunch - spice, sour and fizz. There is also some nectar fruit that lingers around a bit. The finish also has a bit of harshness to it. This is an okay beer, but not close to tripel standards. Never a favorite from the brewery.
