COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Black IPA is brewed with Briess’ midnight wheat to give all the color of a stout without the roast, instead the flavor comes from the 3 pounds per barrel of dry hopping with some of the most aromatic hops America has to offer.

Tap at Publicity Pub in Bellevue; Typically BIPA's are full of malt flavor WITH hops. This one is heavy on the hops. Blind taste tests where you can't see the dark color would trip people out. Great lacing and if you are a hophead you will love this brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

MrBunn (2438) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 19, 2014
On tap at Bottleworks. Pours a thinly headed dark dark brown with no signs of rising carbonation and weak aromas of chocolate and earth. Flavor showcases hop bitterness, but not a ton of hop character. Malt body has an almos dark fruit edge to it and the hops is complimentary in an odd way. Kind of a bit of resin and herbal hops thing going on. Decent but underwhelming.

On the hoppy side of the style without a lot of roast elements. Pours dark brown with great head and lacing. Finishes sweet from caramelized malt with a little bitterness but caramelization takes over on finish. Tap at Black Squirrel.

Suttree (5013) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Black, loose white head. Smells mostly Porter-like, but that flavor is definitely more IPA-like. Lots of earthy, coffee and chocolate mixed with citrusy hops. I enjoyed this.

Draft at Beer and Bacon. Pours dark brown with a fizzy light brown head. Tastes sweet, like roasted grains, light hops, light bitterness. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like malty, sweet, musky grains.

Sample pour at a festival. Pours deep, dark brown with fizzy beige head. Aroma is roasted and chocolate malts, earthy notes, light ash, prunes, and raisins. Flavor is dry roast malts forward with earthy bitterness, chocolate, and faint dark fruit esters; dry finish with some bitterness lingering. Medium body and carbonation.
