| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Bottle, of course. Visuals as expected, dark and moody. Big vanilla aroma. I have to seriously contemplate as I write my notes. Alcohol is a mysterious beast. Definitely a whiskey kick tot his, viscuous and mule-kickish. Molasses, sweet malt, bitter chocolate also make their appearances. Whiskey, raisin, dates, more whiskey. While clearly marking its place amongst big beers, this remains relatively sessionable. I wish I’d reserved it as a single sipper for the night, instead of a night cap to a beerathon, because I’ve done it injustice. Wow. (#3372, 3/31/2008) pantanap (1375), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This is a story about bourbon, imperial stout is a term thrown about loosly. Creamy bourbon stout. Great lace. Muted sourness. Grows on you. tomthompson89 (1494), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2008 2007 bottle. Pours a darkish brown with a light khaki head. Nice bourbon aroma. Flavor is smooth and balanced. Hints of vanilla, caramel, some toffee notes. Roasted notes at the finish. Just the slightest bit of warming alcohol. Really well done. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 4, 2008 2007 bottle. Pours a clearish reddish brown for an imperial stout with a faint lose tan head. Oaky bourbon is slight, light sweet chocolate, low roast, not intense at all. Thin fizzy body for style with a hint of viscosity. Sweet with acidity. Bourbon boozy oak, vanilla. Lingering oak with a cola acidity finish. Not a huge fan... can’t see this aging well. MaltOMeal (668), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2008 750 ml thanks to drmatt. Pours a dark blackish color with a tan head. Very nice lacing. The aroma was prominently bourbon and alcohol. The taste was bourbon, but also oak, roasty, nutty and a hint of chocolate. Mouthfeel was medium-to-thick and creamy with alcohol present. Better than what I had hoped after reading a few previous ratings. alexanderj (2290), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 20, 2008 NOTB; Schlafly was definitely the surprise of the night for me. Sampled this one after the Ten Fidy and thought this was far superior. Nicely balanced; aging didn’t overpower this beer, but rather complimented it. Nice roasted and chocolate elements. Hopefully KieferUGA still has a bottle of this one.
