3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear dark amber with a full antique lace head. Toasted malt aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, buttery, nutty with a slight vegetal character (celery). Hop bitterness, though not over the top, is pronounced. Good, but I prefer an English brown.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a deep amber color with a finger of eggshell foam. The nose smells like bitter oatmeal and a touch of toasted malts. On the palate its reads closer to a amber but has a strangely malty grassy backbone that is strange. Slightly metallic, strangely bitter stale grain, doesn’t read as hop bitterness but more of a cardboard and old stale malts.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Brown-amber pour with a white head. The aroma has some toffee and grass notes. The flavor is full of light roasted malt, toffee, coffee and grass. The beer is very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz can into a pint glass. Pours a clear brown with initially a large head that faded to a thin layer fairly quickly leaving a good amount of lacing. Aroma of nuts, caramel, and biscuits. Taste is more bitter hops than anything, but with a mild nutty taste, roasty malts, caramel, and toast. Dry finish of malty bread. Thin and watery texture, average carbonation. Rather plain, nothing particularly noteworthy. Not bad, but nothing special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hoppier than your typical brown ale, which is no bad thing, but somehow doesn’t add up to greatness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz can, date stamped April 2013, served in a silipint.
Pours with a large tan head that has good retention. Clear brown. Sheets of sticky lacing get left on the glass with each tip,
Medium body. Medium but soft carbonation. Creamy feel. excellent for style.
This Amer. brown ale has all the sweet and roasted malt flavor one should expect from a brown, but mixed with a solid hoppy component. In fact, this brown is as hoppy as a pale ale. With a lasting roasted grain aftertaste, this ale packs a good amount flavor for a brew with a low ABV. Good sweet/bitter balance from start to finish. Recommended.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Pours a reddish brown with a slight off white head. Taste is pine and malt. A different variation from a traditional brown. At 5% abv, not a bad tasting beer. Not a show-stopper, but would buy again.
