COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly IPA is a session IPA, a smooth golden ale packed with the bold flavor and aroma of American hops. We crafted it in the spirit of the low gravity IPAs common in the UK where the style stands for hoppy, not heavy.

Can. Pours dark orange with a medium white head. Aroma of moderate floral/citrus hops with caramel undertones. Moderately sweet caramel backbone with floral and fruity hops. Similar finish with some citrus hop notes. Well balanced with a moderately bitter finish. Close to an average IPA but highly drinkable.

Can. Small sample at in-store tasting. Big hoppy aroma focused on the dank/piney side of things. Taste is a little watery but maintains a touch of hoppiness. Solid carb. Not bad for a session IPA but not as good as All Day IPA in my opinion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My notes say "It’s a normal IPA", which may sound dismissive, but I mean it in that It’s pleasantly hoppy, thinnish bodied, and Reasonably low in alcohol so I can drink a bunch if I want. Which I do.

Can. Lovely amber pour with a tall, frothy white head. Aroma is laden with floral hops and citrus while tropical fruit and caramel notes lie just beneath. Taste is sweet malt, light caramel, floral hops, tropical fruit notes and softer citrus. Body is medium with and moderate, bubbly carbonation, light stickiness and a light lingering bitterness. Ends with more tropical fruit, citrus notes, sweet malt, floral hops, earthy hops and light caramel.

12oz can poured into a Bug Eddy glass. Darker than the picture here, funny. Basically put its a balanced IPA with good bit of malt but not enough to take away from the hops. Has some slightly sweet hops and low bitterness. And its under 5%. A perfect balance of hops and malts without malts being bad. And its sessionable. This would be a great float trip beer. Canned on April 4, so just about 3 weeks old.

The aroma combines the scents of citrus and spruce hops, and the appearance is a yellowish orange color with a medium white head. The taste is mildly bitter, slightly sweet, and a touch sour; furthermore, the palate combines a medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish.

Pours light golden with an off-white fairly dense head. The aroma has some funky hops, caramel malt, woodiness, tangerine, earthiness and a touch of cattiness. The body is pretty thin and crisp with a moderate amount of carbonation. Much lighter body than most IPAs, but at 4.5% that’s to be expected. Starts with crisp crackery malt, minor toatiness, earthy/woody hops, lots of spiciness and a bit of dry citrus. The finish is crisp and earthy. This is a good beer, but I’m having it on a cool evening. This would be so easy to knock back on a hot St. Louis afternoon. Good amount of flavor for the alcohol involved and priced right as well. This hit the mark for what it was trying to do.
