COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly IPA is a session IPA, a smooth golden ale packed with the bold flavor and aroma of American hops. We crafted it in the spirit of the low gravity IPAs common in the UK where the style stands for hoppy, not heavy.

Very drinkable IPA, these cans go down very easy. Mild hops aroma, would be a great starter IPA for a newbie.

Pours clear copper orange with a small amount of white foam. Smells of citrus and hints of pine. Taste is lightly bitter, not overwhelming but not super pleasant. Light-to-medium bodied with a wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Schlafly Can Sessions IPA finishes with a soft lingering bitterness.

12oz can, canned Apr/4/2013, shared by phaleslu. Clear golden, slight orange color. Little white head. Nice grassy, lightly citrusy hop aroma. Smooth, soft lighter carbonation. Medium body. Good moderate bitter taste. Satisfying IPA

12 oz. can via STL trade. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. The aroma is like fresh hop pellets; herbal, grassy, and really aggressive in relation to the overall lightness of the beer. Backing pale malts and a little straw. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a clean, crisp mouthfeel. I could drink like a thousand of these on a float trip, you guys.

12oz can. Pours a nice golden color with an inch of off-white head that disappeared fast. Aroma is a bit earthy with a hint of pine. Mouth is a bit on the mild side, like that of a simple pale ale. Drinkable. If you want to try a good low alcohol IPA, look for DuClaw’s OZ Fractional IPA.

Nice and bright in the glass. Some orange peel on the nose. Lots of bread, grass, and earth on the nose, and a substantial measure of each on the palate. Long finish. Very drinkable.

12 oz can into a pint glass. A: Pours a golden amber color with good clarity. The head poured is ragged and downright ugly - it has a soapy-looking texture and fades away pathetically. She’s not a looker, that’s for damn sure. S: Now this is better. The hops win out here, providing notes of grapefruit, pine, lemongrass, and even some tropical fruit touches. Maltiness doesn’t really come through, but I don’t care about that. T: A combination of lemongrass and pine needles open things up, changing to a slightly tropical tone in the middle. There isn’t much of a finish due to the dryness. All the carbonation creates an illusion of bitterness on the palate, but when given the chance to calm down, it reveals a nice flavor-to-bitterness ratio, with even a negligible hint of flavor layering. M: Dry, dry, dry. It manages to avoid a watery pratfall, though, because of the lingering resin qualities. On the other hand, it’s ridiculously fizzy - which makes the brew seem more bitter than it is, among other things. O: It doesn’t make me hard the way Lagunitas DayTime did, but that’s because Centennial is pretty low down on my list of preferred hops. Still a successful low-alcohol hop vessel, though.

Can at Bigelo’s. This was less than the bold flavor as described above but was nice. I tasted floral and grass with light malts. There was not a lot going on but it was pleasant.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Clear, gold pour with a soapy, white head. The aroma has earthy hops with just a hint of pine. It has a light, thin body with average carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a somewhat bland finish.

Faint hop aroma with a clear golden amber color and a white head. Taste is slightly malty with a minimal hop finish. Overall just an OK brew. I’d call this a pale ale not an IPA. If you are looking for a IPA with a lower alcohol content, go for the Lagunitas Day Time IPA
