Very nice flavor in this Christmas ale. Nice brown copper in color and a festive taste with very mild spice. Very easy going

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s malty, solid, not bad. It has a good, sweet character. Some spice. Not too heavy but good alcohol that’s masked very well. A good winter ale that I would consider sessionable around the holidays.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a deep rich copper color. Small creamy khaki head. Aroma is chock full of Yuletide spices, including cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cardamom. Sweet caramel malt with nice complex spice and alcohol warmth. Floral hops are subdued but welcomed. Notes of butterscotch and holiday spice rack. I rather liked this one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours slightly reddish-brown with a small tan head.
Cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel scent....very spicy.
Sweet caramel malt, spicy orange-peel, clove taste.
Just on the verge of being overblown with the spicing.....the cinnamon is almost gritty...Finishes with a slight grain alcohol note and strong holiday spices...Pretty good, but not one I’d pick repeatedly.

Bottle at home. Pours a brown amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is spices with cardamom and cloves very prominent. Also cinnamon. I hate Christmas beers and this was no exception. The spices just overwhelm this. Nasty. And I generally love Schlafly, but this is just yucky.

From tap. Pours clear golden deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is spiced. Nutmeg and cinnamon like. Vague butterish. Toasted malty. Caramelish. Sweet finish. Not my thing.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bright aroma of berries, ginger, cloves and everything else in the deScription. Like a Christmas cookie. Pours a brilliant brown color with an off white medium sized head of foam. Tastes like the Christmas cookie spice from the aroma, hops, sweet malt and orange peel. Palate is terrible; I don’t know why it has to be so watery. This is interesting but I don’t know if I will be seeking it out again.
