Nice sweet smell with a hint of grapefruit was pretty excited to take a drink. Poured into a light head and a reddish goldfish color to it. But I was upset with the flavor which it lacks pretty bland.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 Half pint at Taproom. Aroma is very nice clean lager with a good mineral character and slightly sweet white bread malts. Same in flavor just a nice clean non-boring lager.

Clear. No head. No lacing. Pretty mild and plain. Not memorable. Sampled at hop in the city 2013

Tap at the Schlafly Tap room. Clear gold with a two finger white head, decent retention. Lightly toasty biscuit malt and honey with a bit of grassy hops. Flavor follows suit, just a touch of sweetness before finishing dry with bitterness peaking at a 2. Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Pretty tasty.

Judging on style, Dortmunder. A-mild bread, earthiness, some faint grass and herbs. A-rich amber gold. Thin white head. T-malt is rich bread and cereal. Earth floral notes. Very minimal hop character. Very balanced and easy to drink. P-rich malt mouth feel with medium carbonation. O- a very balanced and approachable beer. I could drink many happily.

Sampled at the 2013 Heritage Festival. It poured a yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of wheat with hops and a little doughy. The taste was roasty with some ginger, a little nuttiness and vegetables. Very nice.

Pours deep amber with notes of light malt that drive into a light hop and cereal grain palate.

Lighter brown color with minimal head. Not a lot of smell coming off this one. This is fuller bodied.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2013 Tasted on-tap 9/17/2011 at the Hop in the City Festival in a clean half-pint taster glass. Balanced, smooth, and slightly higher gravity than a typical lager. True-to-style but forgettable. A good gateway to better craft beers, I suppose. Tasted again on 6/15/2013 at the St. Louis Brewers Guild Heritage Fest 2013 in a sampler glass. It poured a clear golden amber colour with white foam. Faint aromas of grain and noble hops. True to style flavours too: Pilsener malt, extremely faint caramel and fruit, nicely balanced bitterness. Light body, average carbonation, crisp and refreshing. Glad to try this one again, I think I can appreciate less extreme styles like this more than I used to.
