This medium-to-full bodied lager, also known as an Export, is straw colored and well balanced; neither hops nor malt predominates.

Tap: Clear dark straw with a very persistent head. . . Strong hop aroma with a great caramel malt character. . . Bittersweet honey and an awesome sweet candy hop presence. Fabulous palette and finish, a very well done dormunder!

Tap at the brewpub, thanks Drew. The body was light pale gold with a white head that stuck well to the sides of the glass. The taste was meaty and full with some some earthy mushrooms. The aroma was sweet bread and apples. This hit me just right. An excellent beer.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2003 Clear deep golden in color with a small white head that doesn't last very long, Bready and flowery aromas, starts sweet and bready with a hint of grains, light to medium bodied, nice smooth mouthfeel, finishes and crisp and dry, very tasty and drinkable.

05 hop in the city in KC. I don’t know a lot about this style, but this was a fine beer. It was a straw/golden color. It had a sticky with head, and some visable carbonation. A nice herbal hop aroma, and some grainyness. Fuller bodied than I would have expected. Medium carbonation. I would love to see this one on the shelves in KC.

A pale lager with flavor made in Saint Louis???? I found this one at the Schlafly Taproom. Lovely floral hop aroma, perfectly balanced lots of body and just enough hops in the finish.

Tap at the Schlafly Tap room. Clear gold with a two finger white head, decent retention. Lightly toasty biscuit malt and honey with a bit of grassy hops. Flavor follows suit, just a touch of sweetness before finishing dry with bitterness peaking at a 2. Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Pretty tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 Half pint at Taproom. Aroma is very nice clean lager with a good mineral character and slightly sweet white bread malts. Same in flavor just a nice clean non-boring lager.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2005 Lightly sweet malty aroma with some flowery hop perfume and lingering notes of honey. Clear, pale golden color with a slight, fine head and spidery wisps of lace. Flavor is very nicely balanced throughout, with pale malt sweetness and crackery notes contributed by the malts meeting the herbal, lightly flowery, peppery hops which yield a moderate amount of bitterness. Some spicy, green hop notes late. Palate is refreshing and lightly effervescent, body is light-medium. Actually quite enjoyable and easy to drink. I’m afraid I’m unconcerned about its adherence to style or lack thereof. This is a fine spring-summer choice.

On tap at the brewery. Light golden see through yellow color. Light aromas of apple and malt. Lovely medium body with a very well balanced malt/hop combination. Very true to style. Glad the bartendar recommended it!

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2014 Tasted on-tap 9/17/2011 at the Hop in the City Festival in a clean half-pint taster glass. Balanced, smooth, and slightly higher gravity than a typical lager. True-to-style but forgettable. A good gateway to better craft beers, I suppose. Tasted again on 6/15/2013 at the St. Louis Brewers Guild Heritage Fest 2013 in a sampler glass. It poured a clear golden amber colour with white foam. Faint aromas of grain and noble hops. True to style flavours too: Pilsener malt, extremely faint caramel and fruit, nicely balanced bitterness. Light body, average carbonation, nice mineral water essence, crisp and refreshing. Glad to try this one again, I appreciate these delicate styles more than I used to.
