COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale.

Hazy orange amber with massive frothy bright-white head. Deliciously fruity apricot and nectarine aroma with underlying pine resin. Great hop bite to the flavor, pungent spruciness with dry grassy, earthy green finish. Biscuity malts balance it nicely. Good carbonation level, overall a solid, tasty APA.

Bottle born on January 29, 2008. Pours a cloudy orange with a tall white head. I was expecting a bit more hops in the aroma, but itís still pretty nice. A musty note is there, almost like a Saison, but primarily herbal spiciness and caramel are present. I donít get a great deal of citrus on this one. The flavor has a medium level of sweetness in a bready, peachy fashion with drying, piny hoppiness. Again, not a whole lot of citrus. The bitterness comes out more like herbs or pot. This is a pretty solid American pale.

12 ounce bottle. Pour very hazy yellow with lots of particles. Sticky snow white head. A nice aroma of oranges and pine. The flavor leans more toward the floral side with a long bitter finish. Medium body. High carbonation. Bitter dry finish. Really as far as APA goes, you could do much worse.

Pours a golden yellow, clear with a big old sparse white head, full of spaces. The nose is full of hops. C-word hops. Resinous pine to floral bitterness. Sweet, light malt. A little soap, a hint of creaminess. Hops first. The mouthfeel is pretty good, slick and full for the style, reigned in carbonation. The flavor is a cut below. Big ass hops, again C-word all the way, fresh as one can expect. The sweetness is too sweet though, to simple. Pale ass malt, not a lot of dimensionality to it. Thereís some unwelcome toast. The sickening sweetness seems to play up a hint of DMS. Maybe I served this too warm. Lingering bitterness. Not a bad beer, a better APA, fo shizzle.

Bottle. Pours a light gold with descent off-white head. Good lacing. Nose of fresh piney hops. Palate was a great balance of the intense hop flavor and the malt backbone of the ale. I detected some grapefruit notes as well giving the beer a little extra layer of taste complexity. A great APA that I will definitely be buying some more of.

Bottle. Strong American PNW hops, exotic with mangos, peach, and pine. A little too much dust and cardboard, though. Strong carbonation in the amber-golden body, and a lacing, thick soapy off-white head. Taste is thickly hoppy, dank and musty and delicious! Not as bitter Iíd like, but with a great moist, drenched hoppy taste. Lots of citrus. Medium body occasionally edges upward, the body is roundedly malty with caramel and a good balance. Silky smooth and refreshing. Ending is dry and hoppy but not bitter or resinous. Finally, a big winner from this brewer Ė and a very quaffable session, at that!

So, Iím in St. Louis for the weekend. Surely I canít find anything to satisfy my SoCal beer snobbery, right? Wrongo...this is great stuff. Perhaps the perfect hoppy session beer. Great cloudy light color, good head, and amazing hop presence. Slightly thin in the mouthfeel, but thatís to be expected given the ABV.
