COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale.

Draft… Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is a fusion of toffee, grapefruit and piney, peppery hop. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. The flavor is all about bitter, juicy hops and caramel malt. Bittersweet, lupulin/juicy hop finish.

Tap @ Schlafly St. Louis. Pours a clear, golden orange appearance with a white head. Somewhat piney, a bit spicy hoppy, pale malty aroma. Fairly pedestrian flavor: notes of flowers, pine, citrus, and toasted malts, though all are weak.

Bottle, thanks strykzone. And boy a big thanks. This is an underrated brew. An awesome amber pour with a nice big white head. A great floral aroma hits you with some green pepper and malty sniffs as well. The flavor doesnt bite you with hops but you can taste them with delicacy. The malt is sweet and the carbonation is nice. A really good beer.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with TannerTavernboys (thanks!). Bottle labeled ’brewed with love on Sep 13 2006’. Poured a darker amber color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, oranges, and light grapefruit.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Bottled 8 days ago. Awesome. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Nice, sharp hoppy aroma with resin, leafy notes and caramel. The taste is caramel, citrus and leafy hops, with a bit of a lingering burn. Very faint breadiness in the finish. Medium bodied, smooth, nicely balanced. Good beer.

Sample at the Lambert St. Louis airport location (as Expedition Reserve). Clear amber-orange color with a thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of floral hops and citrus. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, citrus and toasted malt. The finish is moderately hoppy and fruity and lingers awhile. Pretty good overall.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2014 Cask at the brewery. Big foamy ice-cream head on top of a golden murky body. Sweet orange and lemon hop aroma, creamy and sweet hoppy flavor. This one is nice. Silky, creamy and overall very hopped. Recommended.

My Bottom Line:
Orange-scented tea leaves and bitter, spicy resins float around lax caramel in this drinkable but rather generic American Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy golden.
-Malts also sculpt biscuity allusions.
-Hops also develop minty and citrusy angles.
-This one didn’t taste like it was in the best shape when we got it...

Bottle.

Decent white head on a golden body. Nice citrusy hoppy aroma. Grapefruit hops dominates the flavour with just barely enough malt to start to approach balanced. Some fruityness, and a mildly acidic grapefruit finish. Decent palate. Nice beer, but a touch one dimensional. Thanks for sharing Adrian.
