This full-bodied traditional English-style ale is brewed with a high gravity and extra hops, which originally helped to preserve the beer on long voyages from England to India.

Weak malt and weaker honey nose. Cloudy orange, white chunks, headless. Overripe oranges, and lemons. Some floral notes appear at midpalate. Drinks ok, but doesn’t impress.

12oz bottle-thanks to JustinH for trading–pours a retaining off white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is spice, light malt-bready. Taste is spice hops, light/medium malt-bready. Good carbonation.

I very much enjoyed this IPA. Nice bold hop flavor and good alcohol. A well made homage to English IPAs.

Pours a slightly hazy golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma has a good fresh grapefruity hoppiness and some toasty, lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts with a nice malty sweetness and good, fresh grapefruity bittering and flavor hoppy balance.

Hazy gold, lots of particles, large frothy head. Aroma of toffee, English hops, floral, fruity, herbal. Taste is malt heavy, thick body, lots of sweet fruit and floral hop, plum, peach and so on.

12oz bottle, bottled "with love" on 3/28/2011. Golden orange color, quickly fading half-finger head. LOTS and LOTS of ground-parmesan-sized floaties! In awe of that, mostly, not sure if I should be worried.. Bottoms up.. Suprisingly not that bitter, for an IPA! A nice change of pace. The floaties make awesome swirling movements with every swig, bumping appearance up to a 5. Very drinkable. Aroma is more subtle, less citrus/floral than I’m used to, yeastier maybe? I like it, though. Quite a unique IPA! But what does "export" mean? If it’s brewed in USA, and I’m in USA, I believe that’s "domestic"...

Bottle at Busboys & Poets. Bright deep golden color, medium white head. Aroma of light pine. Taste has a balanced bitterness with citrus and pine. Very nice.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Aromas of yeast and some bitter hops. Not much aroma at all, and it was warm enough. Cloudy orangish beer with a white head. Taste was doughlike and bitter from the hops. Long bitter finish, but not my favorite. The hops are not citrus, or floral, but just bitter on the front of your tongue. Overall, not too bad, but probably would not seek this one out.

12 oz bottle, fresh 2011 version: pale straw, large bubble white head. citrusy, piney aroma with notes of that hard, dusty, pink bubble gum...palete is creamy and nicely carbonated...which brings the fruity flavours throughout the mouth. Light caramel and honey provide a soft and tasty finish. Though the 8% abv makes it tough...I could drink these all night.
