Acknud (610), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jul 7, 2008 Orange pour with a small head. Grassy malt smell with maybe a little orange on the nose. Taste is bready with some orange and a nice hop finish.
alexsdad06 (666), Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a lasting medium sized fluffy off white head. The aroma has hints of grapefruit, grassy hops, and floral qualities as well, although nothing is too dominant. The flavor is heavy on the bitterness and it lingers well into the finish. Not as much grapefruit as the nose led me to believe. The malts do not stand up to the bitterness, but what is there is more bready and pale. The finish, in addition to being bitter, is dry. This is a decent IPA. lebshiff21 (33), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 24, 2008 Seemingly "light" despite it’s 8% ABV. Grapefruit and maybe even some peach in there. I liked it a lot, just the way an IPA should be... refreshingly crisp and hoppy with a good punch. heemer77 (3782), Savannah, Missouri, USA Aug 25, 2008 Deep amber body with a very lightly peach tinted head. The aroma has some rich notes of grapefruit and roses. There is also a hint of musky perfume from the hops. The taste is rich with grpaefruit and some light bread crust. There is also a little bit of walnut. A nice IPA. Tmoney99 (3639), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2008 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a hazy deep amber with a large off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Good earthy hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate to heavy balanced hoppy flavor with a moderate smooth bitter finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew. drfabulous (741), Columbia, Missouri, USA Aug 22, 2008 My favorite Schlafly. Don’t know why I haven’t rated this one yet. That’s how it is sometimes: ratings are not complete beasts. Many I have forgotten to do. Many I have forgotten about. Very solid IPA done English style.
