This is a champagne beer is both appearance and taste. Throw in the effervescence as well. This beer is fruity, yeasty, and a bit funky. It is light drinking but quite complex. Alcohol cannot be tasted but is definitely there. A very tasty and enjoyable beer.

Bottle pour into large tulip glass. Very artsy design on the label. Ok, so here comes the elusive "Grand Cru" style. Pours a dark orange/amber with hints of red. Fizzy white head, persistent. Aroma is sour/tart, citrus, banana, spice, bread, and yeast. Complex. Flavor is sour, citrus (green apple) and slight funk. Sweetness is strong at first then gives way to a dry finish. Medium bodied. Longer duration. Not too much alcohol present in nose or mouth.

Indy Winterfest ’09. Light golden brown with thin white head. Very sweet round caramel tinged nose. Lightly fruity. Esters. Thicker body. Lower carbonation. Sweet light appley fruity caramel. Light alcohol. Lingering sweet. Light astringency. A little bit of smokiness maybe, unexpected.

750ml bottle. Bottle conditioned. Served in a chalice. Lots of carbonation. Poured an orangish gold. Big head that dissipated fairly quickly. Spicy aroma with some sugar and a little banana fruitiness. Fairly dry beer. Malt is there, but not overly sweet. Medium bodied. More spice and burnt sugar. Not terribly complex, but very drinkable. Alcohol is well hidden.

Fruity. Maybe a bit too much for a Grand Cru. Puts it on the Tripel border. A reason why both the Schlafly Tripel and Grand Cru came out at the same time? Not a lot of malt or deep flavors we get from a Grand Cru like Alesmith’s. Good amount of yeast in the flavor. Nice overall.

Looks like a good barrel-aged bourbon in the glass. No hed or lacing. The beer coats the glass with a thin film when swirled. Strong aroma of barley malt and vinegar. The taste has belgian yeast, malt and and alcohol. It has a medium body and the finish is smooth and flat.

I was not quite what to expect from this draft pour at the St. Louis brewpub. Came a very attractive rich amber color that was so clear it looked like glass. Nice white head and lacing. Nose of good ripe fruit, with banana on top Smooth mouthfeel. Good flavors with lots of citrus. Nice finish. A very enjoyable brew.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a deep amber color with a small head that left great lacing. Smelled of fruit and yeasty. Tasted of earthy tones with alot of fruit flavor, especially banana. Some notes of raisins and slight spice of hops at the finish. Left a very robust flavor in my mouth that lasted long after my drink. Solid Belgian from a St. Louis brewer I have come to enjoy very much.
