COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Munich Style Helles. Golden and medium-bodied, it has a fresh noble hop character and lightly toasted malt flavor. This classic summer time lager is made for the warm, lazy days of Summer in America’s heartland.

Difficult to find this seasonal even here, especially so in January. Bottled on July 23, 2009 into a lager glass. Pours clear and golden with white head with spotty lacing that diminished quickly. Bread and hay with some floral notes. Nice bitter sweet balance with full feel, carbonation is small and continuous I have drunk more than a few of these in session, and will continue that so long as available, I am partial to this beer..

Sampled at the 2009 Parkville microbrew festival. Pale yellow with a poofy white head. Unfortunately this is not a true helles. It tastes more like a Pabst Blue Ribbon. Basically this beer sucks.

Bottle, shared by Eugene. Pours a pale golden body with a white head. Grainy bread y body with a dried wheat sensation and some lemon grass and bread. Just not for me.

Gregis (1281) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Pours a nearly-clear yellow with a frothy, white head that collapses to a thin skin. The nose is of sweet, doughy malt with light grassy hops in support. Light-bodied, yet substantial on the tongue, it has a coating quality and a clean finish. The flavor is a nice, clean doughy/bready malt and just a touch of grassy hops to counter the sweetness of the malt. This is a very sessionable beer; a nice addition to Schlafly’s portfolio.

Tasted 9/19/09. Draft from Schlafly’s Hop in the City. Filtered with a bright golden hue. White head. Typical lager aromas of cereal grains and mild esters. Medium bodied with a crisp flavor and mild astringency. Very smooth palate with a little more kick than most in this category. Perfect for Summer in St. Louis.

From the brewpub. Schlaffenfest 2007. Filtered with a golden hue. Soapy white head, Mild honey cereal nose. Big and bright with a nice finishing dryness. Crisp and smooth with mild malts. Nice tight carbonation. Smooth bready flavors followed by soapy citrusy hops. Nice bitterness in the finish.

Cornfield (5437) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2009
Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, Indiana: It poured a very pale yellow body with a tall and sustained white head. The aroma was light - some honeyed white bread and a touch of grasses. The flavor was refreshing, lightly sweet with grainy malt and cut by a soft grassy bitterness. Good warm weather brew.

Light, watery, thin, and not particularly memorable. Clear bubbly straw beer with a varying head, little retention, and nearly no lacing. On a 100-degree day, I could see this being a success...but not so much on a 65-degree evening. Very little aroma, very little in the way of mouthfeel, but a decent flavor and crispness.

Draft... Clear, light golden lager with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma is pure honey. Medium-bodied with subtle carbonation. The flavor is grainy and loaded with honey sweetness with just enough hop bitterness to balance things out. Bittersweet, mashy finish.

It pours a clear golden yellow color with a thick white head that settles nicely. There is not much to the aroma, some hints of toasted malt. As you sip on it the flavor is delicate and mild. Not much hop flavor, and could use some more malt. Overall it is a refreshing brew and great for warm lazy days of summer.
