3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bluejacket74 (992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - APR 21, 2012
12 ounce bottle, bottled on 3/16/2012. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear light gold color with a half inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like bready malt, grassy hops and light citrusy (lemon peel) hops. It tastes mostly like grainy/bready malt and some light grassy hops. It’s light, crisp and refreshing with good carbonation. This would be really good on a hot summer day (as opposed to a rainy, mid 40 degree day like today is here). At $8.99 a six pack, I’d buy this again. I liked it.

Pours pale gold like a pale lager..clear, bubbly...white ring.
Scent is moderately malted, some lemon.
Taste is metallic, harsh grain, hops.
Finishes better than it starts.
Recommend drinking at cellar temp.
I’ll say not too bad...need to sample again with a warmer start.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 26, 2011
Marketed as Schlafly Summer Lager. Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass, but it would be fine to drink this one straight from the bottle outside on a hot summer day. Poured a light golden color with creamy white head. The noble hops stand out right away, as does the pronounced malt-sweetness. Much more aromatic and flavorful than most light lagers. A classy, well-balanced, drinkable beer.
