It is on the line of a skunky lager scent, taste is big time copper and corn. It is not complex, but a good summer/camping beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a light yellow color with white head. Light straw, malt aroma. Nice light helles flavor. Refreshing, lighter beer, but nothing exciting.

Good size head, white, a little lacing, yellowish color. Straw like aroma. Malty taste with a little bitter at the finish. Light to medium body.

Pours clear golden with a sizable white head. Smells of mild toffee or biscuit with some spicy hops. Taste is mild sweet and mild spicy bitter. Light-bodied with a slick texture and average mouth-carbonation, Schlafly Summer Lager Helles finishes clean.

Golden color with a small white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toast, citrus, light floral notes. Taste of citrus, grass, light toffee malts, finishing mostly dry.

Serving: Draft. Pale yellow pour. The nose is light with a touch of grain. The flavor has a light bitterness on the back end with some cereal grain up front. Light and crisp, solid summer fare.

12oz bottle - pours clear yellow with quickly diminishing white head and thin lacing. Nose is hay, straw and floral. Flavor adds malt. Taste is better than the nose suggested: light sweetness and some bitterness. Smooth and easy to drink with enough character to keep it from being boring.

Drank from a can. Earthy aroma. Thick head (probably because of temp change). Crystal clear light straw color. Hint of malt up front, balanced out by grass taste. Pretty light body. Nothing great, but probably good on a float trip or after mowing the lawn in today’s 104 degree weather.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 Once again, Schlafly is kind of a letdown in the aroma department - here, not so much off-putting and funk, just extremely light and weak. Flavor much better - grassy and full-flavored. Drink - don’t smell so much. JUNE 2014 EDIT: Had this again at the 6/21 Joplin Macadoodles Beerfest, and the aroma was far improved this time. Nice pils aroma. Flavor was still good.

Pours a straw amber with nice malt notes. The malt gets somewhat complex as you make its way through a light but very fulfilling finish.
