1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
It looks pretty. Now for the rest of the story. Horribly over-hopped. Hops aroma completly masks any aroma of malt. The same goes for taste-- all I get is hops, hops, hops, with a very long, resinous-bitter finish. I had three friends do a blind taste test, and not one of them identified this as a brown ale. Two actually thought it was IPA!
If you like IPA, you might like this. If you are expecting the character, flavor, and aroma of a brown ale, you’ll be disapointed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the STL airport fauxpub. Clear, empty brown color. Just a little charred, caramalized malt nose. That I like. The rest is an empty shell of a style. Just too cookie cutter, all the essence and individuality sucked out to make it an overly simplified yet craft product. Just the right amount of hops, not bitter, not overly malty. Not a thin or thick body. Really an amazingly stunning achievement until you realize its soulless. Like a politician saying all the right things but underneath you know they have sold there soul to the highest bidder. Hmmm... am I overthinking this?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer pours a very clear reddish brown color with a medium off-white head, and the aroma is reminiscent of toasted malts, earthy hops, and almonds. The taste is a touch sweet, slightly bitter, and mildly umami with a slightly nutty and slightly roasty aftertaste. The palate fuses a lively carbonation, slick texture, and a medium-light body.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Llywelyn’s Pub in St Charles. Served a dark brown color with a thick head that faded to nice lacing. Aroma of malt, bit of caramel and light touch of grain. Taste of malt, caramel sweetness with bit of garin in the background. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Medium body, smooth and a bit creamy. Nice beer, for the style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear golden copper with a big full antique lace head that goes a little flat after a couple of minutes. Aroma is dry grain and floral spiciness. Taste is sweet caramel malt, buttery biscuits and a little hop bitterness to finish it off. Good product.
