A dryish and crisply bitter light amber ale with a big pine-and-oranges hop nose. Avoids that sticky resinous bitterness that can get in the way of drinking lots. Really refreshing and hitting the right balance. I want more.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting held at Bigelos. Clear copper with little carbonation to be seen. A small light golden head. Floral and pine aroma is light. Flavor is also light. Some citrus, some pine, some caramel, some grain. This is very light drinking and is kind of like their Pale Ale but lighter. A nice bitter flourish at the end.

Draft at BP Dupont. Filtered orange-brown. Mellow floral hop tones. Quite a nice English IPA, but if you sold it as an APA I wouldn’t blink an eye. Very flavorful for the ABV. An awesome session beer, quite fresh. Well done.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (4429) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 9, 2011
Draft at The Tap Room- St. Louis release limited to 2 kegs and I’m pretty sure it will be gone by mid-day 4/9/11. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a finger-thick off-white head. Aroma of earthy, citrusy hops, tea leaves, grass, wood, and dry grains. Flavor of earthy, leafy hops, tea, orange citrus, bready malts, and wood. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a fruity, leafy mouthfeel. Does exactly what it advertises as a nice, hoppy session IPA.
