Jun 7, 2008 Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This Imperial Stout pours a deep black color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized tan foamy head The aroma is chocolate and coffee, touch of vanilla. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, roasted and coffee, touch of anise and vanilla. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. A fairly easy drinking, but flavorful Imperial Stout. The mouthfeel is full and round. The finish is clean and smooth. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and chocolate, perhaps a touch of alcohol.

May 15, 2008 Dark brow pour. Heavy vanilla and bourbon aroma with a like taste. Palate is a little thin.

Apr 7, 2008 Deep brown body is not quite opaque. Beige head leaves nice chains of lacing. Aroma is mostly vanilla and bourbon. Some roasted notes are subtle. Body is a bit thin for style. Taste mirrors the aroma, with dark roasty notes playing second fiddle to the vanilla and bourbon. Some nice chocolate tones add complexity. Mildly disappointing. With so many big stouts out there this one just doesn’t excel.

Feb 16, 2008 Dark brown body with a thin tan head. Slight dark fruit taste followed by dry, bitter coffee finish. Little alcohol present. This could be dangerous.
