3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap @ Schlafly St. Louis. Pours a brown appearance with a light brown head. Anise, dark fruity, anise, Belgian chocolate aroma. Somewhat roasty, a touch burnt, dark chocolate flavor. Not my favorite.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Ian downstairs. Pours deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet but roasty, slightly astringent with a nuttiness and cocoa character. Flavor starts sweet with some roast pushing in before the nutty character comes strong. A bit of a marshmallow note pushes in before a sweet and malty finish. Medium body and a crisp carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer pours black with a substantial tan head, and the aroma is very malty with hints of nuts, caramel, and toast. When sipped, this beer is slightly bitter and sweet, but the heartiness is undeniable; furthermore, the body is of a medium fullness, and the flat carbonation, thick texture, and bitter aftertaste leave you wanting to sip more.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Churchkey. Poured a black color with a tan head. Aroma is light roasted malts, some sweetness to it. Touch of dark fruits, but mostly roast malts - relatively refreshing especially for 8%.

Bottle from Shawan liquors. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam that leaves a trace of lacing. Some roasted malt and dark fruit on the nose. Notes of molasses on the tongue with a touch of bitterness on the finish. Solid

Very dark brown. Coffee and hints of chocolate. Medium body. Pretty good but not memorable stout.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque dark brown with a full khaki head and good splashes of lace. The taste starts with a full-bodied, silky smooth burnt caramel malt, adds alcohol as it moves through the palate to a more bitter malt at the finish. A big drink - one is enough per session - but also worth seeking out. Recommended.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown pour into a pint glass. Tan inch of head. Not transparent but light still shone through.
Smells of roasted malt, toasted barley. Subtle overall.
Solid Irish Stout. Burnt malt comes through, balanced with bitter hops. Nice, not a hint of sweetness.
Soft and silky. Surprising and nice. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
A very solid Irish stout. A perfect daily drinker.
