COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours black and is an amped-up version of a traditional dry stout. The addition of both roasted barley and dark crystal malted barley give Extra Stout undertones of chocolate, molasses and dried fruit.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of chocolate with some roasted malt and a hint of licorice. It pours a dark brown with orange hilights along the outer edges of the glass with a small beige head that fades quickly. Flavor starts with moderate chocolate. The finish has moderate black licorice flavors with some light roasted coffee and a hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but a tad fizzy for an Imperial Stout.

Black, no head. Really faint aroma - some coffee, I guess. Taste is coffee, some burnt toast and a dry finish. As it warmed, I started to get some buttery notes, and not in a good way.

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a black color with a tan head. Aroma is light roasted malts, some sweetness to it. Touch of dark fruits, but mostly roast malts - relatively refreshing especially for 8%.

Keg @ Beer Run. Deep brown with a tight creamy head. Nose is dried coffee and ash. Mocha powder, Oreo cookie wafers. The taste starts bone dry and finishes full and creamy on the palate. Rocky road ice cream. Roasted coffee. Earthy hop bitterness. Simple but satisfying. Medium body, soft carbonation.

A dark brown pour with an almost yellow head. A light malty aroma with a hint of sour to it. A flavor of slightly sweet malt with a medium bitter finish. A very thin palate an a bit fizzy for me. Just a little bland for me and fizzy. Not terrible but just short.

So dark, rich, and thick with a nice tan head. Flavor is very nice chocolate and coffee. Feel is substantial. This is a very nice stout and one that I will seek out again.

Bottle. Chocolate and roast nose with faint nuts and a slightly syrupy fruitiness. Malty but with a nice dusting of hops. Coke-colored pour with a creamy, richly tanned head. Taste is carbonated, dark, and lightly bitter, aforementioned fruit with light mocha and nuts, pleasant roast with a little dust. Smooth, creamy lightish medium body, still very quaffable. Malt-heavy with lactose and even a little Yoo-hoo. A little too bittersweet to really be called a dry stout, but close enough for jazz. Alcohol is absolutely no detectable - I made a mistake by drinking 8% so quickly. A nice surprise, though.

Bottle. Darkest brown/black pour with a big tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a bit of sweet malt and a hint of alcohol. Sweet malt flavor up front with some booze influence and a dry finish.

The body is black with a light tan head. The aroma is sweet with pancakes and some notes of vanilla. There is also some almond in this one. The taste is relatively dry with some coffee and dark chocolate. The body is smooth. There is not much else going on in this one. I would say it’s closer to a foriegn stout than an impy stout.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice light brown creamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of deep chocolate notes with light roasted malt notes also noticeable. Taste is heavier than I had anticipated with loads of black chocolate notes with some roasted malt notes and some light dry bitter notes. Body is fuller then expected with good carbonation. Very enjoyable and probably closer to a foreign stout than an Irish stout.
