COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours black and is an amped-up version of a traditional dry stout. The addition of both roasted barley and dark crystal malted barley give Extra Stout undertones of chocolate, molasses and dried fruit.

A dark brown pour with an almost yellow head. A light malty aroma with a hint of sour to it. A flavor of slightly sweet malt with a medium bitter finish. A very thin palate an a bit fizzy for me. Just a little bland for me and fizzy. Not terrible but just short.

The body is black with a light tan head. The aroma is sweet with pancakes and some notes of vanilla. There is also some almond in this one. The taste is relatively dry with some coffee and dark chocolate. The body is smooth. There is not much else going on in this one. I would say it’s closer to a foriegn stout than an impy stout.

12oz bottle pours a lightly oily, translucent black with some thin off white head. Nose is malty, nutty, coffee, spiced chocolate cake, coffee grounds. Flavor is sweet, malty, nutty, coffee grounds, spiced cake, chocolate, malty, molasses. Full bodied, dry finish.

Bottle. Chocolate and roast nose with faint nuts and a slightly syrupy fruitiness. Malty but with a nice dusting of hops. Coke-colored pour with a creamy, richly tanned head. Taste is carbonated, dark, and lightly bitter, aforementioned fruit with light mocha and nuts, pleasant roast with a little dust. Smooth, creamy lightish medium body, still very quaffable. Malt-heavy with lactose and even a little Yoo-hoo. A little too bittersweet to really be called a dry stout, but close enough for jazz. Alcohol is absolutely no detectable - I made a mistake by drinking 8% so quickly. A nice surprise, though.

So dark, rich, and thick with a nice tan head. Flavor is very nice chocolate and coffee. Feel is substantial. This is a very nice stout and one that I will seek out again.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of chocolate with some roasted malt and a hint of licorice. It pours a dark brown with orange hilights along the outer edges of the glass with a small beige head that fades quickly. Flavor starts with moderate chocolate. The finish has moderate black licorice flavors with some light roasted coffee and a hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but a tad fizzy for an Imperial Stout.

From the bottle. Served in a taster glass. Pours near black with a good light mocha head and a bit of lace. The nose carries quite a bit of roast plus some coffee. Very mild chocolate. The flavor is a mix of roast and coffee. Quite roasty and a touch acrid. Light-medium body with good carbonation and a faint dryness to the finish. Mild bitterness as well. Pretty good.

Bottle. Darkest brown/black pour with a big tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a bit of sweet malt and a hint of alcohol. Sweet malt flavor up front with some booze influence and a dry finish.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized dark brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque black colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was chocolate and dark malt. The thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thick flavor contained notes of roasted malt toasted malt dark malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

When held to the light in a pilsner glass, this is a stunning Blood garnet color. Taller tan head dissipates to a lasting thin lid. Lots of sweet rich malt, with light molasses and cocoa. Hints of dry herbal hops and touch of alcohol present. Thick and slightly coating in fell. The alcohol thins it out in the throat, along with a mild burn. Espresso and toasted malt abound. White pepper burn in the finish and linger. A touch rough in spots, but a nice end of the day stout.
