This collaboration with Kaldi’s Coffee uses the cold toddy method of extraction for the coffee. We mix it with Oatmeal Stout for an exceptionally delicious beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a 12 oz glass. Dark brownish black with half a finger of light tan head. Aromas of sweet roasted coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee beans. Tastes of coffee, roasty notes, dark chocolate, oats, caramel, vanilla. Medium body with a dry finish. Very tasty.

Bottle at home in CT - sourced in NYC. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds filter coffee, earth, dry bread and cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with pleasant, lightly roasted malts, a bit of coffee with creamer, bread, chocolate bar. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Nicely balanced on the finish with relaxed coffee character, more chocolate tones, mild roast, toasted bread. Very drinkable.

Tap. Pours clear mahogany, medium brown head, good lacing. Aroma is lots of coffee, not much else. Flavor is coffee, some roast, light sweet, medium bitter, light acidity. A bit burned. Medium light body. Very coffee forward, a bit one dimensional.

Pours a crystalline black with light toffee head. Great coffee and roasted malt aroma. Strong and mildly bitter on the tongue with great caramels, oats and chocolate with a surfeit of coffee. More of an effervescent mouthfeel thanks expect for a stout - kind of like a porter. A winning brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Coffee and not much else. A little too light in taste and palate for a stout. Aroma is good and coffee flavor is high end (Kaldis is some good coffee) I just wanted more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Definitely a coffee smell and taste. To me a very heavy beer, I could not sit around and drink a bunch of these. Good taste, overall another good beer from this brewery.

Draft pour at boogaloo in St. Louis. Black with tan head. Smells like coffee and choclate. Taste is pretty much the same. Malty and creamy. Good

Pours very dark brown to black with a decent khaki-mocha head that settles fairly quickly to a thin ring and leaves some fine intricate lacing. Nose involves coffee mostly, just a nice dose of cold brewed coffee. Maybe hints of dark chocolate and earthy stuff. Somewhat sweet, fairly bitter. Lighter bodied, thinner, somewhat oily, fairly active, finishing somewhat dry with coffee. Decent coffee beer, easier to drink than many, but not super rewarding.

Rocky white head and a black pour. Chocolate, coffee, and just a touch of orange in the aroma. The body is not a little too light, but has a nice coffee and chocolate flavor.

12oz bottle, received in trade with bluesandbarbq Memorial Day weekend, got a few beer geeks running around my house and I know what I have in store for them, thanks to a nice trade from brother Lou. This was a very nice coffee stout and it’s strength lies with the flavor. The beer pours out a deep black body, medium-sized mocha colored head with really nice retention. Aroma starts off with coffee (no surprise there), but some light tobacco, leather and even some cream kind comes in there (I’ve been on a coffee kick lately, so maybe that’s my imagination playing tricks on me). Flavor has a nice mocha quality to it, but leans a little to the drier side of coffee flavors and not the sweeter. Tastes almost like some coffee grounds were sprinkled in there before capping the bottle. Big roasty flavors, the charr is kept well in balance and the dry cocoa flavor is also welcome. Definitely a keeper.
