COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This collaboration with Kaldi’s Coffee uses the cold toddy method of extraction for the coffee. We mix it with Oatmeal Stout for an exceptionally delicious beer.

On tap at Flying Saucer Nashville. Pours deep brown black with a small tan head. Aroma dark roasted malt and coffee. Flavor of bakers chocolate, dark roasted malt, and lots of coffee. Moderate sweetness and medium full mouthfeel. Non aggressive bitter finish, with more coffee coming out. The coffee flavors are strong, sort of like that pot that has sit on the warmer for a little too long. Fairly solid beer here. If you don’t like coffee or iced coffee drinks, stay away.

Pours a midnight brown with a robust tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee and vanilla. Sweet malt, coffee, and dark chocolate flavors in excellent balance. A very interesting stout.

Bottle. Black color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid roasted coffee malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium burnt sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

The beer looked great. Dark brown with an enormous tan head. Strong coffee aroma. The aroma was stronger in coffee than the flavor. But that is okay, I wasn’t looking for a cup of joe when I bought the beer. Rich and creamy flavor of choclate, coffee, and malt.

Deep, cooffee black color, no head. Aroma is just like walking into the coffee shop, robust and fresh brewed aroma. Flavor also has a full bodied, fresh brewed coffee taste. Very good, I’d like more of this.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep brown, with almost red tinges. Think cherry cola. Initial aroma is coffee, of course. Taste is a bit thin at first, though as it warms, get decent body. A bunch of carbonation for the style. The coffee flavor is fairly subdued to me, not a bad stout.

Tastes like pure coffee. The aroma is of coffee. I get a slight chicory, but mostly a nice, dark roasted coffee. I would like some cream and sugar in this brew. Overall though, it is very straight-forward, and very decent. That said, it is not really a session beer.

Just like drinking coffee mixed with a stout this beer is so apporpriately named. Nice zing to the stout. Some chocolate is found but mostly coffee. Very nice!

Somewhat thinner pour than anticipated with a thick tan head. Nose seemed fairly intense with strong chocolate and coffee highlights. The flavor was rich, roasted mocha with the emphasis mainly on the chocolate, more so than the coffee. Mouthfeel was very creamy, smooth and rich. Altogether a pretty well done effort.

Roasted coffee bean nose. Fairly thin pour with a nice off-white head. Reddish brown in color. Lots of roast in the flavor, coffee and nuts, some sweetness of an ale, and lingering bitterness. Not too shabby.
