3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with mahogany highlights. Very fine tan head settles to an incomplete cap.
Nose is really good dark coffee. Roasty, rich, with some chocolate and earthy notes. Total domination by the coffee, and no hint that this is a beer, rather than a cool cup of high quality Joe.
Medium in the mouth. Much better balance between the malt and coffee, with the former actually making an appearance here. Quite long and lingering on the finish. Nice stuff.
Soft, low carbonation gives a richer feel to the mouth than is really there. A bit too much coffee to have more than one or two at a sitting, but I still like this quite a bit.

Pours back with a good off-white head. Aroma of coffee & malt. The coffee flavor dominates but with a follow-up of chocolate. Very unique & good. Schlafly rocks!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at BW3. Red tinted dark dark brown with thin light tan head. Nose sweet with lactic smells, a bit creamy, roast, a little coffee. Too sweet, unbalanced. Mouthfeel low carbonation, with watery body for style. Sweet coffee aspects bitter and overly sweet. Milkiness disappears. Tiny roast, unbalanced sweetness. Lactic finish, too sweet aftertaste.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours very dark brown, almost black. Has on finger of a creamy tan froth. Smells of Roasted coffee primarily, and also chocolate, and hazelnut, caramel. Wow and it actually tastes like coffee as well, a cold, malty, carbonated coffee. Wouldn’t mind of these with my breakfast in the mornin.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Secret Santa. Well the aroma makes up a huge amount of the score on this brew. Smells like you had just opened a maxwell house columbian blend can of coffee. Black body with tan head. Flavor was like drinking cold roasted coffee. Smooth on the palate thanks Santa.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Make no mistakes this is a coffee stout! Other coffee stouts use some really expensive mocha, espresso, starbucks. Not this monster. This smells and tastes like the coffee grinds left in the filter from your local Quick Stop. If you’re a die hard daily multiple cup, cheap coffee drinker, then this is your beer.
The appearance and mouthfeel was fine, I just didn’t like the strength and flavor of the coffee used. Worth a try.
