On tap at the St. Louis brewery- love this spot on layovers! Ours dark dark DARK mahogany- smell and taste are HELLA loads or espresso beans... Not too heavy on the mouthfeel but really not getting much other than coffee/espresso..... Impressive how one note it it.... But itís clean and clear to taste. Therefore- me liking the taste of coffee and this being VERY COFFEE FRONT - Iím not mad. But if I didnít like coffee... Weíd be screwed and drain pouring this one... And questioning why we ordered a coffee stout...

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Dark brown pour with a quick tan head. Aroma of cold roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is very good with the showcase being the roasted coffee mixed with flaked oats and dark chocolate. Mildly bitter finish but nothing unpleasant. A very well done coffee stout.

On tap sampler size at Quench! Craft Beer & wine in Silver Spring, MD. Opaque, brown-black with a fine tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. Taste of intense, rich roasted coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. Full/medium body and medium/high carbonization. This beer is dominated by coffee and fortunately, it's an amazingly good coffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Large sample pour of blackness with khaki head. Nose is plenty of black coffee. Flavor follows with plenty of coffee and some cream notes. Lighter body than Iíd have expected. Still a great beer

Draft: Very good coffee stout. The lower alcohol really helps the coffee come through. This is fairly easy drinking and has a wonderful thick full body to it. Nice beer!

Bottle at home in CT - sourced in NYC. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds filter coffee, earth, dry bread and cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with pleasant, lightly roasted malts, a bit of coffee with creamer, bread, chocolate bar. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Nicely balanced on the finish with relaxed coffee character, more chocolate tones, mild roast, toasted bread. Very drinkable.
