This light-colored, refreshing ale is THE beer of Cologne. Well balanced and mild mannered, this beer is great for summer.

Very nice summer beer; not too heavy, not too light. Slight German Weiss beer flavor, but only slight. Still a transparent light color, but with more body than a pilsner. Nice with a lemon wedge.

a decent kolsch, though not as much bite as id like. one of the better options from Schlafly.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a mildly hazy straw color. The head is a three finger white shade. Fluffy in texture, it lasts a decent duration and leaves behind streaks of lacing on the glass. S: About what I expected: grassy hops are at the forefront. I could use some more fruity esters on the nose. However, this one’s all about showcasing the noble hops, and that’s not exactly a bad thing. T: The fruity qualities I was looking for on the aroma are thankfully more prevalent here. Some light notes of cherry, apple, and lemon lead to a nicely crisp, grassy finish. Nothing here rewrites the book, it’s just enjoyable and very easy to drink. M: Appropriately light and crisp. It’s not entirely bone dry, however; but the light fizziness to the carbonation makes it one that could conceivably be chugged. O: I like this one as simple refreshment on a hot day. It even has a modicum of substance to it - allowing it to escape the pratfall of mindlessness many brews of its ilk fall prey to.

12oz bottle shared. Poured slightly hazy yellow with white head. The aroma is medium malt and maybe some spice. The flavor is crisp clean and maybe a bit buttery on the back end but overall very good representation of style. Tis needs to be added to your lawn mower beer list.

Beer has a great flavor. Flows smoothly over the palate with a great mouth feel. Overall a very good beer.

Bottle from Big Bear Café in D.C. The beer is golden yellow and clear with a small white head. The aroma offers lager yeast, fruity esters, grain. Light and refreshing. Malty, with some subtle earthy notes. A tad sweet initially, with some sweet notes mid to late palate. Mild hop presence. Refreshing. This is a solid beer and hit the spot.

Slightly hazy amber with a milk-colored head. Aroma is a bit of malt with just a hint of hops. Nice guzzler, clean dry maltiness with a small accent of German hoppy bitterness on the finish. Good beer.

Bottle. Looks only a shade darker than a pale lager. Clean, crisp flavors of corn and straw, maybe something citrus in the finish. As refreshing of a beer as I've had in awhile.

Pours a pale golden with a thin white head that doesn’t stay around long. Weak aroma reminds me of something American. :( Tastes OK, but nothing really stands out here. No intense malt or hop flavors, everything is subdued, with a hint of sourness. Had it for lunch, goes OK with food, but I’d rather have a pale ale. Not a repeat for me.
