3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
This bubbly Kölsch knows how to showcase its delicate malts atop mineral and fruity angles for a refreshing experience.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty pale gold.
-Carbonation is much more intense than that of the real deal in Köln. Mineralities are made obvious as well.
-Apart from the mouthfeel which is different, the flavor profile is rather authentic.
-Hop bitterness is zesty and herbal.
-The body is lean and drinkability quite high.

Pale golden pour. The aroma is very light. Some subtle fruit and a
little bit of corn-like malt character. Clean ferment (relatively).
Warming intensifies the fruit. Okay - sort of cream ale ish.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg pour at Sedgwicks Bar, yellows golden pour with a nice white frothy head. Light in the mouth, taste of malt, not quite toast more like a white bread and it also sticks to your tongue. Nothing wow about it, but nothing you will complain about. Just going around successful and not singled out like a middle class office worker.

12oz bottle. Pours golden orange with an off white head. Aroma is of malt and grain. That’s about it. Taste is of malt, wheat, and not much else. There’s not a whole lot to it. Its not offensive, it’s just not much.

Draft. Yellow with thin white head.Aroma of ale yeast spiciness and hay. Slightly sour yeasty ale with a lemony heavy finish. True to the style and paired nicely with a brat.

This is an excellent American version of the Kolsch. Why? Because its the German version done well. Nice aroma, fruity aroma and taste all from yeast esters. Nice billowy head. Malty light refreshing great!

3/15/15 (Bottle) - Slightly Dark Golden light pour, mild carbonation, minimal white head. Nice fruity yeast and lemon aroma and taste. Beer felt light both in texture and is a light ABV, and it felt smooth and refreshing going down. Nice light beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From tap, it's straw colored and has nice thick lace. Nose surprised me with fruity notes, but also a little sour. Taste is fruity, tart, floral with light grains and some mild sour esters. Light and crisp. A nice representation of the style with a traditional base, but a unique flare. I'd take this over most of the Kolsch I had in Cologne.

Draft at Churchkey, DC. Pale gold. Crisp, juicy, clean. Sweet and tasty. Solid, but not best kolsch around.

Close, but lacking some of the pure grain sweetness. Nice foamy head and lacing, but slightly cloudy. Hay, bready aroma, taste mostly white bread. Abrupt, flat finish.
