SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Sep 2, 2007 Rating 1072, on tap at the Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood MO. Hazy darker amber with a medium sized medium lasting whiteish head that left good lacing on the glass. Nose is grains with just a touch of spice. Taste has more malts and wheat. Copper finishes off. Drinkable and pleasant.
Rynoplasty (234), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 17, 2008 A fairly light tasting dunkelweizen, but with some nice tasting bannana and spicy flavors. bhensonb (3005), Woodland, California, USA Sep 15, 2008 Tap at Schlafly Bottleworks. Dark amber color with a creamy, slightly lacing, white head. Aromas of sweet malt, suggesting a Belgian tripel. Medium body with somewhat biting carbonation. Flavor is like a light Belgian amber with something like clove. GJF (238), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Sep 1, 2008 I’m not sure what to make of this beer. A dunkel? dunkelweizen? an amber? belgian yeast flavors? It’s got a nice yeasty aroma, but all in all the flavors never quite come together for me and the body is too fizzy. Not for me. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 @Indiana Beerfest-pours a rich off white head and gold color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-caramel, secondary clove. Taste is wheat/medium/dark malt, secondary clove, orange. Mild carbonation. Beer_Hawk (759), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Aug 19, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Music City Brewers Fest. Amber with a creamy off-white head that left some lasting and good lacing. Sweet fruits in the aroma with hits of spices. The flavor is much the same with some caramel coming out also. Light body and slightly watery texture. Enjoyable.
