Pours gold with just a slight hint of amber and a medium sized off white head. Aroma is bready, biscuity malts with hints of caramelized sugars and earthy hops. Flavor is a semi-sweet blend of bready and biscuity malts with a nice earthy bitter finish. Very nice.

6/15/2011: Schlafly Brand No. 20 Vol. 1 Imperial Pilsner... Aroma: Muted citrus and resin/pine hops; the maltiness fades into the background; encouraging... Appearance: Hazy, dull gold color with a lovely, frothy off-white head. Flavor: Non-heavy matliness that is mostly pale malts with a little toffee, spicy, floral, leafy Noble hops; alcohol is even and shows in the finish, but doesn’t burn. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; very smooth and soft on the tongue. Overall: This beer is easy to drink and well-balanced, but needs just a bit more hops to edge out the malt a touch more...

750ml from my summer Secret Santa - thanks! Nice cloudy gold pour with a healthy carbonation and some decent lacing. Nose is fairly unassuming, dry hops and papery malts. Clear sense that it’s faded at this point, and this turns out to be more or less the case in the flavors as well, which are quite bready. Still a style I often enjoy, but it would be interesting to compare this one fresh.

750 ml bottle shared by Craig or Tom. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a medium sized bubbly white head. The nose is fruity, sweet malt with some spicy hops and a slight lactic tartness. The flavor is primarily sticky sweet malts with some lesser notes of fruits, and spicy hops. I am not much of a fan of this style and this beer does not effect my opinion of the style in either direction.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with an average large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate hops, yeast and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid brew and very good for style.

750ml bottle-pours a rich white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is lemon/perfumy, secondary sweet light/medium malt. Taste is lemon/perfumy hops bite, secondary sweet light/medium malt-bready. Soft carbonation with slick mouth feel. Some peppery at finish.

Bottle… Clear yellow lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. The nose offers pale malts, corn and honey. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and medium carbonation. The flavor provides big, sweet pale malts as the dominant component over modest, peppery and spicy hops. Finishes crisp and bittersweet. Bottle courtesy of phaleslu!

Pours a clear darker gold color with a medium fluffy white head that evaporates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of noble hops, sweet malt and a bit of spice. Medium, clean body with a moderately hoppy character and notes of fruit, spice and malt. The finish is grassy hops with a fruity aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Pale orange-gold with a very fluffy, bright-white head. Lacing is thick and the appearance of whipped egg-whites. Nose is nicely balanced between vanilla malts, orange zest, light peach and sweet wheaty grains. Juicy oranges and nectarines greet you with your first sip, and some moderate spruce creeps in during the middle of the profile, finally ending slightly medicinal with some fine dried grass notes. Nicely carbonated - moderate levels of fine, prickly bubbles - with a very mildly syrupy palate. Fantastic. HUGE thanks to Narnad for the bottle - this was very much enjoyed.
