chinchill (1866) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 24, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2014 12 oz bottle , bottled on 15 April, 2013, and served in a snifter at about 55F. This Oatmeal Stout pours dark mahogany but is clear and the bottle lacks sediment. The small tan head is short-lived and leaves scant lacing. The oatmeal is evident in the aroma, flavor and soft feel. Hints of dried fruits and faint coffee add to the flavor. Low hops and carbonation.

Hophaze (172) - South Bend, Indiana, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Tap at Fiddlers. Pours black with minimal head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Can taste the "oatmeal" but has a metallic taste on the finish. I don't know if that is intended or not but not well received. Overall I think Schlafly makes solid beers but this is average. I will give another try at a later date to see if the metallic taste is still there. ----Hophaze out

ARMed (601) - Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Minimal head that quickly dissipates. The palate has a little metallic tart like finish that is a bit annoying. The appearance is a deep dark black brew with a slight reddish hue, overall a mediocre stout in my opinion.
