This rich, full-bodied Stout has sweetness from caramel malt, bitterness from roasted barley and smoothness from flaked oats. Available on draft and in bottles.

Aroma of roast and oats. Taste is a little less roasty, but definite chocolate and oats. A little weaker than I’d like, though; not very long-lasting. Pretty decent stout, but it just doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression. A light-drinker that would go well with a snack of cashews or something like it.

Nice oatmeal stout. Smells like coffee with oats. Tastes like roasted cereal. Finishes bitter. Average carbonation. Elements come together very well here. Pours black with good head and lacing.

Bottle (bottled on 12/27/12)
Aroma: Cocoa, dark bread, hint of coffee
Appearance: Opaque black with big foamy white head
Taste: Cola, coffee, licorice
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, a bit thinner than the body suggests. Very smooth and integrated mouthfeel.
Overall: Well crafted and exceptionally drinkable. Could imagine this would be awesome on nitro, but even out of the bootle is really good.

My Bottom Line :
Roasted malts turn to dark chocolate in this lean, quaffable Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the brown-hued blackness.
-The carbonation is a tad too much for my tastes in the style.
-The chocolate-y finish is long and highly pleasant.
-Leafy hops tag along and eventually create balance.

Bottle. Pours a deep black color . No huge head with a malty light schwartzbier taste. Tastes very drinkable and smooth

2013) (785-200813)

Had at the Tap Room in St. Louis in the summer of 2011 or thereabouts. Very nice beer. Didn't let good notes for this.

Base: very dark brown.
Palate : medium bodied.
Taste: easy going , drinkable. Chocolate, slight smoky hints. Softer finish. Nice.

Poured from a cold brown bottle. Dark brown color, short lived tan head. Oyster smell. light taste for an oatmeal stout.
