This rich, full-bodied Stout has sweetness from caramel malt, bitterness from roasted barley and smoothness from flaked oats. Available on draft and in bottles.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours nearly pitch black with a one and a half finger dark tan head. Excellent head retention with a cap remaining over halfway through the glass. Nearly a solid wall of lacing as well. Impressive. Lot of coffee in the aroma along with a solid shot of dark chocolate. Nice dark roasted malt and a touch of dark fruits. Rich roasted malt, espresso, and dark chocolate on the taste. The chocolately roast just carries on for what seems like forever and is perfect with the silky smoothe mouthfeel provided by the oats in the mash. The more I drink this, the more I pick up on some plums and dates as well. Just a moderate bitterness that is enough to balance out the sweetness. Overall, one of the better oatmeal stouts I have had. Lots of roast and chocolate and a great mouthfeel. A wonderful dessert beer.

Nearly black with a foamy light brown head. Aroma of roast chocolate malt. Creamy, with a very nice bittering between the coffee notes and the hops. Simple, straightforward and solid.... Good beer.

Bottle. The pour is dark with a head that fades quickly. The aroma is full of roasted malt, very pleasant. The taste is a little thin, which can be expected with the low abv. A good drinkable stout.

With this being oatmeal I would expect thicker head. Pretty standard stout, nothing great nothing bad.

Pours black, barely a hint of ruby in the light, with a fairly buoyant mocha-beige head that settles down to a ring leaving touches of soapy lace. Nose involves some roasted notes, light chocolate, some earthy and minty hops. Pretty sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied, creamy, softer carb, with a somewhat abrupt roasted finish. A decent brew, just a little lacking.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2013 1st rating: 2/25/2013: Medium body. Bitterness from hops. Black in color. Caramel, roasted malt notes present. I am not a fan of this, but it is a good beer for those who are alright with the hoppier accents in an oatmeal stout. 2nd rating: 8/30/2013: Could have a thicker body and would be more enjoyable/smoother if there was less of a bitter bite to the end. Jet black color. Nice taste of coffee and a bit of chocolate.

Thanks, Abbie and Mike! Having enjoyed several Schlafly stouts over the years, it’s a treat to crack open this chewy oatmeal stout on a cold-ass night. Pour is very vigorous, with a surprising large and unruly head. Settles quickly into spotty lacing. Nice roasted and bitter notes in the nose, with deep chocolate underneath. Mouthfeel not too prickly, despite the carb, though the body is a trace thin for the style. Flavors are nice, though, with a mild fruit note creeping in here and there to complement the chocolate. But mostly just a rock-solid, bitter and bready stout, just the ticket when the mood strikes.

Black ,thin head, some lacing. Aroma is malty chocolate, plum, anise, fruit, and a strong vannilla oakish, kindof woodiness.Comes off as an exotic type fruit. I guess it would be the raison,I think its some yeast esters.Fine tobacco. Taste is same as aroma all of those notes intensify in a complex taste. This is a really good oatmeal stout. Has a nice unique character to it.
