Poured brown into a snifter. Almost black in the glass, tan 1/2 inch head. Roasted barley, burnt malt Burnt malt and bitterness dominate. One dimensional. Good, but lacking complexity and balance. The hops have taken this stout hostage. Soft and smooth. Moderate carbonation, light to medium body. Drinkable, but I’m unlikely to get more of this.

Bottle received in trade, just short of two years now. Black, a tad thin in head and taste. Lots of lace. Interesting now. Strangely boozy aroma.

Aroma is sweet malts. Taste is toasted nuts and chocolate. Overall not the best example of an oatmeal stout.

Black with big tan-to-mocha head. Aroma of roast, bittersweet chocolate, espresso, some ash. Taste roasty and bitter, lots of roast, ash, some bitter chocolate. Not as sweet as aroma would suggest. Some biscuit notes on palate.

I liked it. I thought it was a really smooth and sweet stout. Had some of the sweeter elements of caramel throughout.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Vova’s place. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Black with a tan head. Aroma of lots of coffee, cocoa, roasted grains and a bit of drier dark fruits. Roasty flavor, slightly sweetish, slightly smoky, with coffee, some chocolate and a drier finish. Medium-bodied, slightly creamy oatmeal mouthfeel. A nice one.

Bottle, bbotmc. Black with tan head. Roasty and a little dry in the nose with vanilla and dark fruit. Roasty bitterness and rich chocolate taste. Full body, dry, chocolate finish. Quite great.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker glass. Very dark brown with a small dark beige head. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Heavy roasted flavors, burned coffee, medium bitterness and dark cocoa. Medium body, creamy and dry enough and slightly too alcoholic. Cool.

First chance for me to try an offering from this brewer, and as a stout lover I give this a solid thumbs up. Espresso colored with thin tan head, aroma not prominent. Cocoa overtones, bitter but not unpleasant finish.
