I really like this beer from schlafly. It has a great body for an oatmeal stout, something I think lacks in a lot of other similar styles from other breweries. Great aromas of barley and oats, on the palate there's a nice fullness of oats and very light bitterness. Highly recommend.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jahshuwuh (180) - USA - MAY 2, 2013
Very dark pour with a finger of tan head. Smells of oatmeal, chocolate, rye. A funky taste with a different kind of bitter, not a lot of sweet but can taste a sweet oatmeal, chocolate comes through a little with some toffee, coffee. Bitter lingers on the tongue with some malt. Overall the bitter and off funk is prominate and the sweets are merely undertones. Not balanced to my liking but not undrinkable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jeremyh70 (351) - Missouri, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Pours a dark brown with very little head and lacing. Aroma of sharp roast, coffee and some dark chocolate. Taste also has sharp roast and stale coffee with a bit off dark chocolate. Finishes dry with a moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is slick a light/medium bodied with medium prickly carbonation. Has a harsh edge to the aroma and taste that I am not a fan of.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rangerred (660) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 2, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours nearly pitch black with a one and a half finger dark tan head. Excellent head retention with a cap remaining over halfway through the glass. Nearly a solid wall of lacing as well. Impressive.
Lot of coffee in the aroma along with a solid shot of dark chocolate. Nice dark roasted malt and a touch of dark fruits.
Rich roasted malt, espresso, and dark chocolate on the taste. The chocolately roast just carries on for what seems like forever and is perfect with the silky smoothe mouthfeel provided by the oats in the mash. The more I drink this, the more I pick up on some plums and dates as well. Just a moderate bitterness that is enough to balance out the sweetness.
Overall, one of the better oatmeal stouts I have had. Lots of roast and chocolate and a great mouthfeel. A wonderful dessert beer.

Creamy, with a very nice bittering between the coffee notes and the hops.
Simple, straightforward and solid....
Good beer.

Bottle. The pour is dark with a head that fades quickly. The aroma is full of roasted malt, very pleasant. The taste is a little thin, which can be expected with the low abv. A good drinkable stout.

With this being oatmeal I would expect thicker head. Pretty standard stout, nothing great nothing bad.
