I am not typically a fan of this brewery but their flagshit is definitely a solid brew and frankly the first one I’lve had from them that made it make sense they were in business still at all. . It is a nice looking beer: bright orange w/ a long lasting head of fine bubbles. The nose is a nice mix of tofee-like and toasty malt w/ some slightly citric, slightly earthy hops w/ a hint of cherry-like ale yeast fruitiness. Flavor is simple sweet maltiness which brings out an apple note. The carbonation is crisp and maybe very slightly overly vigorous. My only complaint is a slight medicinal overtone in the firmly bitter finish. I think I have tried half a dozen beers from Schlafly which have ranged from tolerable to terrible but this one is a well done subtle take on an English bitter or pale ale. It is not flawless and does not have the malt depth of the very best of the style but it tastes good and I could drink a lot of it if I wanted too. That is good enough for me.

Being from St. Louis and having this be one of my earliest go-to craft beers, it's tough to rate this. Aroma is citrusy with strong malt notes. Malty, grapefruit flavor with almost zero hop dank, which I love oh so much. Low ABV. Overall decent Pale Ale from a great St. Louis brewery. Go Cardinals. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Light amber, low head. Mild aroma of light caramel. Flavour is grainy caramel with hardly any hop identity to speak of. Thin mouthfeel. Not good.

Bottle. Deep, dark golden color worth a decent head. Aroma was a watery citrus smell. Taste was like hay with water downed grapefruit.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden, thin white head. Mild bready aroma, hop resin. Mild sweet taste. Medium body, dry mild bitter finish. Just kinda of an ’eh’ pale ale. Not much going on from a flavor perspective.

Pours a deep gold with a slight white head. Little lemon citrus on the nose. Good carbonation but not a whole lot in terms of flavor depth.

Relative brought this over and it perplexed us. Being used to American Pale Ales, we weren't big fans. After realizing this is a British style Pale Ale, I don't hate it and think its a well made beer. It also made me realize even more that I dislike British(and British style) beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
