On tap at the at louis airport during a layover. Pours burnt orange w minimal head nose is pretty subtle, some citrus hop, some malt- a little muddled. Taste is even more muddled, a bit stale. Missing the brightness the flavor seems to pretend used to be there. Overall blah but not offensive by any means

Dull is a word to describe this one. Aroma is almost skunky malt with notes of brand flakes. Taste is sort of brand flaky and just insipid. Finish is platitudinous. Overall, Iíd characterize this beer as pedestrian. This seems like an attempt at a "Fat Tire" like brew but not even as good...

Not the best pale ale but it is serviceable in a pinch. Maybe one of my least favorite schlafly.

355ml bottle. Weird that they have 2 pale ales in their regular lineup.Pours a honeylike golden amber, larger white head. Aroma is fruity and spicy, not much maltiness. Flavor is spicy, toasted malt, quite dry, lingering pretzel characteristic. Smooth and sessionable.

Pours a clear, reddish amber with a medium beige head. A more mild aroma contains caramel, nuts, grassy hops, and biscuit. The taste has a bit of bitterness to it. More hops come out here with some grassiness complimented with lemon. Malty notes of caramel and nuts serve more as undertones. The aftertaste is a short, sharp lemon. Light to medium in body, average in carbonation, and a bit of a more slick texture. Nothing really memorable about this one.

Large sample pour. Aroma of wet socks and dogs, mild malt... Some hops. Flavor comes through much nicer with some nicer hop notes. Lighter body and easy drinking..

A golden orange ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light butterscotch, nutty notes, light honey notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with light nutty notes, oily mouth feel, old and oxidized.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a mildly hazy copper color. The head is a finger high, barely off-white in shade. It both retains acceptably and leaves behind a ring of lacing as it fades. S: Simplistic and mild, perhaps befitting its ABV. The primary aromatic notes are earthy hops and toffee-laden malts - like I said, simple. This seems to have a bit more brown sugar and chocolate than Iím used to from the style, but the lack of distinct fruit esters (like apricot) are a letdown. T: The malt backbone is a bit more defined than Iím used to from more mediocre examples of the style: I can taste faint hints of chocolate and brown sugar. Luckily, itís not really sweeter than those aforementioned mediocre examples. It finishes slightly grapey, though I could still use a bit more fruit flavor. Not bad, though - it does seem to have hints of depth. M: Pleasantly crisp and light, with a semi-dry finish. The malts donít choke the palate down, thankfully. Typical of the style, carbonation is on the lower side. O: This style really encapsulates averageness in the craft beer realm: rarely have I had a crappy example of the style, but I donít think Iíve ever fallen in love with an example. And this fits into that zeitgeist perfectly. Not bad, not great, worth drinking again, but not really worth buying 6-packs of.
