UPDATED: FEB 18, 2003 Bottled. Pale amber. Fruity nose with notes of cherry. Sweet and completely dominated by crystal malt flavour. Low hop rate and near watery mouthfeel. Low bitterness. After their Pilsner and Winter ESB this was a bit of a let down.

Bottle. Aroma is light caramel. Light copper color with a minimal white head. Near medium body with coarse carbonation. Flavor is caramel with nearly enough floral hop to balance. Finish is mildly bitter. Somewhat of an over carbonated ESB (over the pond style). Works for me.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2004 Smells and tastes more like a Kolsch than a Pale Ale... sorry, English Pale Ale. Crystal clear golden hue with a small, fizzy, white head. Fully diminishing with no lacing. The aroma is lightly malty, earthy and straw-laden. Light notes of English toffee and butterscotch. Also, very lightly citrisy in the nose with a touch of honey. The flavor is well balanced, but thin. Lightly malty up front. Very lightly bitter, astringent and tart on the backside. Light to medium-bodied with a very lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Medium-length, crisp, clean finish with a hint of pungency at the wee end. A good Summer beer.
