Poured a copper color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of cinnamon, allspice, caramel malts, and a bit of nuts as well. Taste of light spices, with chewy pumpkin, caramel malts, and a bit of citrus fruits as well.

Thank to hopdog for sharing this one. Pour a translucent golden amber with a smaller bubbly off white head that went away quickly. Aroma of pumpkin pie spices, some alcohol, getting the nutmeg, clove and cinnamon with some brown sugar and pumpkin. Flavors of the same...a little more towards the pumpkin pie side of things in the flavor. Alcohol hidden with some of the more sweet malts. A little bit of alcohol bite in the end. I had this side by side with the Southern Tier Pumking and while both are good...the Southern Tier was more up my alley.

Bottled on 8/24/07.. fresh one! Poured translucent reddish-orange with just a dusting and a loose ring of white head sticking around. The aroma picked up deep pumpkin spice, nutmeg, and cinnamon.. amplified by the alcohol, which was never overt.. really enjoyable, and probably the best smelling pumpkin beer I’ve come across! The flavor was marred slightly by some alcohol that lingered in there.. nutmeg, pumpkin spices, and other darker spices hit heavy early and last through a long finish.. some vanilla and creamy spices help support the spicage. Medium-bodied and spicy with a really nice sweet/spicy finish that made me think of hay rides and pumpkin picking.. still a bit sharp with booze at points. Overall a very good pumpkin brew.

bottle pours a deep red with brown tinges. it’s not quite a red ale, but it’s not quite a ruby hue either. aromas of nutmeg, butter, strong clove; all in all it smells like pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream just like grandma used to make it. the taste is exactly the same; prominent clove and nutmeg followed by creamy pumpkin pie. the finish shows the prominence of the clove shining through to the finish. this is a great way to open up the fall ’07 seasonals.

12 ounce bottle from Lukas in KCMO
Crystal clear amber orange, with a off white ring with some continual risine carbonation. I really get a lot of ginger in the nose. Cinnamon and nutmeg are also evident, as well as as a healthy amount of toasted malts. Maybe a bit too much ginger flavor. The spices are easily the highlight, but not obnoxious. Malty with a slight alcohol note. Quite full bodies with a pleasant finish. Top notch as far as pumpkin beer goes.

Bottle from Friar Tuck in Savoy, IL. Pours a deep copper with a huge tan head. Very nice aroma of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and berries. Medium bodied. Nice moderately sweet malt backbone, which has a flavor of dark caramel and raisens. The pumpkin spices take the center stage, and the hops stay out of the way. Spices carry through to the smooth finish. Excellent session Pumpkin Beer.

Rating 1071. On tap at the Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood MO. Clear dark dark copper with no real head. Served in a snifter. The nose was pumpkiny, just a tinge of alcohol but lots of spice. The taste is all over cinnamon, with lots of clove pumpkin and nutmeg. In contrast to other pumpkins that I have had, in particular Buffalo Bills and O’Fallon, this is much more palateable and drinkable. Nice brew.
