3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not a classic quad, but a perfectly decent beer. Glowingly red-brown color, no head (tap). The usual raisin-plum notes of a quad are present but buried under a surprising sour note - not sure if it is by design, or an infected tap line...decent either way.

On tap at Schlafly Tap Room. Comes a golden orange with a nice biege head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and fruit. Taste is malt, dark fruits, caramel, and a touch of hops. Hides the alcohol well. Nice sipper.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Steve’s Foco., courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks! Pours a hazy orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Rich caramel, candy sugar, raisin, somewhat oxidized aroma. Well carbonated. Grape drank, plum, raisin, rich candy sugar, caramel, bready flavor. Not bad but it has oxidized some.

3.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours murky dark amber with big frothy head, at least for me. Not the most pleasing aroma, but a very complex flavor. Deep and earthy, with a bit of fruity lightness. Can’t wait to try the bourbon barrel variety!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Super-dry, with pit fruits and warming malts. Long on the palate, totally in balance, and the freshness of the flavors came to mind as I carefully sipped at this one. Not bright, hi-liter esters awash in alcohol, but fresh, well-crafted, and carefully-constructed. Perfect precursor to a rich Thanksgiving dinner. I have high standards for American versions of Belgian styles, but this quad is distinctly American without losing any of the careworn aspects of the style that make it so special. Really well done.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours murky brown with a super tiny brown fizz. Smells like plum with a touch of fig. Taste is big fruity with a touch of alcohol that warms. Full-bodied with a slick texture and fizzy mouth-carbonation, Schlafly Quadrupel finishes with a rum soaked raisins kick.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy darker amber color with a smallish white head. A little bit of sweetness to the nose with a strong fruity undertone. Definite sweet and fruity notes to the taste, and is remarkably smooth. [Also, I want to toast this beer extra hard since this is my 1000th rating!]

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours out a deep amber color, off white head. Aroma is kind of fruity. Tastes is, again fruity with a light bitterness. It’s pretty effervescent. Overall fairly sweet. A light, but definite alcohol presence. Not bad, not amazing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from seymour, Summer Secret Santa 2012. Pours cloudy dark caramel color with tan head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, brown sugar and dough. Flavors of raisins, sweet molasses, bread dough. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation. A little on the sweet side but a nice American quad. Thanks seymour.
