COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Quadrupel is, as its name implies, a serious beer. But don’t be intimidated. This fourth beer in our bottle-conditioned Belgian-style beer series has a rich, malty backbone that is generously balanced by select, fresh hops to create a luscious, smooth character. Sharing it with friends enhances the enjoyment, whether in front in front of a roaring fire or at the finest dinner party. Quadrupel will be available year-round, but in limited quantities, with the initial batch being 150 cases.

Bottle - 750mL capped. Amber pour with a tall, tan colored head. Aroma is spicy with ripe fruits, big Belgian yeast notes, flowers, and candi sugar. Taste is rather sweet with ample spices, floral notes, candi sugar, ripe fruit, sweet malt, Belgian yeast and light bitter hops. Soft herbal notes in the background as well. Body is medium-full with strong carbonation and moderate warmth, due to the 12% ABV. Ends with more sweet malt, candi sugar, spicy notes, floral notes, hops and yeast.

Bottle picked up at SL... Just watching the game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals. Murky red in color, medium head. Sweet aroma of sugar, hops and malty bread notes. Taste is a little sweet for a quad... Sugary, bready with some light fruit notes. Not bad but I can think of better quads. Medium smooth texture, the alcohol is well hidden. Overall nice sipping beer.

Sampled at the 7th Annual Parkville Microbrew Festival on April 24th, 2010. Deep chestnut orange amber with a thin off white head. Cotton candy and orange chocolate aromas. Thinner in body than it should be. Slight bit of heat, this might be a good one to lay back for a bit.

Sample at Julio’s Spring Beer Fest (disclaimer - memory somewhat blurred after perhaps a few too many samples) My notes say tastes of coriander and rotten banana.
