2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2006
Poured into a hefeweizen glass, this actually looked inviting, a hazy whitish straw body with a faint pink cast topped by a tall white head. But the aroma was a turn-off - raspberry candy, way too sweet. The flavor improved when the fruitiness receded, leaving you with a mild American wheat with a light fruit tartness to it. That being said, one is my lifetime limit.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 LilKem (1214) - Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUN 8, 2006
Not a great beer. Although I noticed that this tasted almost IDENTICAL to Abita’s Purple Haze. The raspberry flavor was weak but the hefe flavors were stifled and skunked. possibly an old bottle, but still a disappointment since the checkout girl at friar tucks recommended it. won’t be listening to her again....

See notes on Hefeweizen. Same beer with a spray of raspberry that did little to improve the flavor.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 vyvvy (3287) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - APR 9, 2006
Pours an interesting hazy light brown / pink with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma is all tart raspberries. Light bodied beer with a lot of carbonation. Taste is a bit watery. Rasperberries are noticable, but more sour and diluted than on the aroma. The flavor does not deliver what the aroma previewed. This is an okay beer, but nothing to get excited about.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 smoosh (529) - New Albany, Indiana, USA - FEB 26, 2006
Bottle - nice berry aroma. Pinky-peach colored body with a pinkish head that is gone quickly and completely. Sweet raspberry flavor. Crisply carbonated despite the lack of a head. This would be a refreshing beer on a hot summer day, but it’s February and about 30 degrees.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 LePoopie (151) - Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 18, 2005
Slight raspberry aroma. Has a pinkish color, with a small white head. Flavor is bland. Light body, with decent carbonation. Overall, quite disappointing.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JMerritt (1687) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - NOV 7, 2005
Pinkish apricot in color, hazy, with a miniscule white head that is totally diminishing. Aroma of raspberries, smells pretty artificial and overly tart if you ask me. Zingy malt flavor, more of that fake raspberry sweet/tartness. The zesty, spicy characteristics I look for in a hefe seem to be missing in this concoction. Carbonation level is too high for my tastes as well.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2005
Hop in the City - the real disappointment of the tasting. Peach tea appearance, no head. Sweet peach and raspberry aroma. Overy bitter body that is watery and generic tasting. The raspberry is light and almost extract tasting. Tastes like a flavored 7UP with the slightest hint of banana. Left my tongue sticky.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kwoeltje (2072) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - SEP 17, 2005
(Hop in the City) Pinkish-gold. Some white head. Noticable rasberry in aroma and flavor. At Hop in the City there was a line of girls two across and quite deep for this one.
