[ Vintage 2008 ]. Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, caramel, fruity, coconut, dried berries, wood, licorice - lakridskonfekt notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110730]

Bottled@HBF2009. Amber colour, small to nonexistant head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, alcohol, honey and some nuttyness as well. Flavour is wood, alcohol, fruits, some nuts, mild sourness as well as stingy sweet nectary notes. Bomb, pleasant balance and very drinkable.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Clear amber, no head. Oaky caramel aroma. Sweet and full bodied with caramel and coffee drenched in oaky bouyrbon. Velvetty and thick, warming and intense. Lovely barley wine!

Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of vanilla.
Sweet flavour of caramel, dried fruits, vanilla and hops.
Sweet and hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit aroma with hints of oak. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with hints of dark fruit and oak.. Sweetish malty caramel finish with hints of dark fruit. Also has some oak and vanilla in the aftertaste.

Bottle @ Papsø. Thanks. Pours dark unclear amber with a small creamy white head on top. Nose is oak, vanilla, syrup and dark fruit. Medium and smooth palate. Flavor is dominated by vanilla, oak and caramel with a touch of alcohol. Slick and sticky.

Hazy amber color, with small head. Strong oak vanilla aroma and malt. Sweet malt and caramel flavor, a bit buttery, with oak vanilla character; good bitterness, with a nutty edge, and a warming alcohol finish. It shows just minimal signs of age.

Hazy amber color; generous creamy head. Creamy aroma, vanilla, sweet caramel and fudge, with very light sourness; chaotic. Quite strong body, sweet toffee and fudge flavor, with vanilla oak; the final is a bit drier. Confused, obvious, unimpressive.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2008 (750ml bottle, 2006 vintage, sampled 10/07) Pours a deep amber body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of caramel, maple syrup, bread, citrus, pear, and light vanilla. Flavor of caramel malt, light cherry, wood, citrus, and some flaxseed.
(750ml Bottle, 2006 vintage) Pours a cloudy amber body with an average beige head. Aroma of cherries, breadiness, caramel, toffee, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor of bready malts, caramel, raisins, figs, and vanilla with moderate bitterness in the finish.
